Bonus Chapter: telling

Beomhyun lets out a sigh as he fidgeted the hem of his sleeves.

He stared at his papa-Taehyun's back who was busy cooking. Although he did offer him help but Taehyun insisted that he'll do it since it wasn't often for Beomhyun to be home.

Taegyu was his uncle Kai for the time being, since the latter had constantly begged his papa-Taehyun to let him babysit Taegyu. So for now it was just only him and Byun in the house. His papa also wanted to ask him something.

And Beomhyun had a feeling that it was about his not-so-secret relationship with Soojun.

He had a plan that he'll tell his papa first, that way he'll have back-up before he breaks the news to his appa-Gyu. Since Beomhyun knows about how over-protective his dad was as per se by his Auntie Moh-wa.

But soon after Beomhyun's thoughts were cut off when he whiffed something delicious. And that was when he realized that his dad had placed down a plate of freshly cooked bulgogi on front of him.

"Alright, here you are Byun," Taehyun says, giving the young boy a smile.

"Thanks pa, but um... what were you gonna ask me about?" Beomhyun asked, not beating around the bush.

"Ah, yes that's right," Taehyun answers as he sat beside his eldest son.

"Byun," he calls out softly, Beomhyun glanced at his dad who had a gentle look on his face.

"Hm?" Beomhyun hums, trying to hide his nervousness. He wasn't sure why he was nervous on the first place but still...

He felt his hands tremble a bit.

"Are you and Soojun dating?"

There it was, the million dollar question.

"U-Uh, w-well I uh..." Beomhyun stammered.

'Crap! Oh my gosh I know pa was gonna ask me that but why did it still catch me off guard?!'

'Alright, calm down Byun. Just tell papa the truth.'

"U-Uh... Yeah, well um, yeah I..." Beomhyun swallowed a lump on his throat and took a deep breath.

"Yes pa, I-I'm dating him," he says in a small, less stammer-ish voice, eyes on the food.

It took a while before Beomhyun felt a hand patting his hair. Lifting his head, Beomhyun was met with his papa-Taehyun's smiling face.

"Oh my, you really have grown up haven't you?" Taehyun chuckles.

"Huh? Pa I-"

"Aigoo, it was like yesterday you were still a baby trying to wall. But now you're all grown up, you even have a boyfriend now." Taehyun says and then connects their foreheads together.

"You kids grow up so fast," Taehyun mutters.

Beomhyun smiles. "So does that make you old, pa?"

"Yah, don't say that to your father."

"Hehe sorry."

"But seriously though, you're okay with it?" Beomhyun asked, now facing his papa.

"Now why would I not? As long as he makes you happy and you love him then I'm on board. Besides, Soojun's a good man, I know you're in good hands." Taehyun smiles fondly, caressing his son's cheek.

"Thanks pa," Beomhyun says in a quite voice, tears threatening to fall.

Taehyun only chuckles as he wipes the tear from Beomhyun's face. "Anything for my first baby."

"Now how about you eat the food I prepared for you okay? After that we'll plan on how to break the news to your appa-Gyu without him fainting," Taehyun giggles to which made Beomhyun laughed as well.
