*A few months later*
Anushka's Pov:
I run into the last room in the hallway with Prabhas trailing close behind me. We knock on the door and it's opened by Rana. My eyes dart to the middle of the room where I see Miheeka laying on the bed, her protruding stomach covered by her large sweatshirt. Her hair is up in a bun, her face is pale, her eyes are a little puffy and swollen, yet I still see a smile on her face. I smile of excitement thinking about what is to come in the next few hours. I walk and stand next to the bed and rub Miheeka's hands lightly while smiling down at her.
"How are you feeling," I ask her quietly.
"Tired, but the pain isn't too bad right now," She replies back while rubbing on her stomach.
We turn back to see Prabhas and Rana laughing a little while they walk up to stand by the bed next to us. Rana goes to hold Miheeka's hand opposite of where I'm standing and Prabhas comes to stand next to me.
"Are you nervous," Prabhas asks innocently, making me look at him and smile.
"Very, but excited too," Miheeka says with a small laugh. She looks up at Rana who kisses her hand softly and rests his hand on her stomach.
I turn towards the door when I hear it unlock and I see a woman, who I assume is the doctor, with a white coat and stethoscope come in. We introduce ourselves to her and leave the room to give them privacy when she checks on how far along Miheeka is. I go down to the cafe area and grab a cup of ice chips for Miheeka and buy a water, sandwich, and fruit for Rana because I know they have been here for a few hours.
"Thanks," Rana says when I hand the food to Rana and Prabhas gives Miheeka the cup of ice chips making her smile gratefully.
"The doctor says I won't be going into labor for a while, about 8 to 12 hours even," Miheeka explains while munching on the ice chips. Prabhas widens his eyes and looks at me and I just give him a look.
"It's better that you are here too early than too late," I add in while nodding at her and Rana agrees with me. Prabhas and I stayed at the hospital for a few more hours until almost 7 p.m. The doctor comes in and says that Miheeka probably won't have the baby any sooner than 2 to 5 a.m. in the morning so we go home.
Rana's Pov:
Miheeka's parents join us at the hospital at around 4:30 a.m. when the doctor says the baby should be here soon. Sam and Chay wanted to be here but Sam is also heavily pregnant so we didn't want her to stay in such an uncomfortable surrounding for a very long time, so she'll come when she knows the baby is born and can finally meet him. Anushka, Prabhas, and my parents are at home as well, and we promised we would tell them to come and meet the baby once everything has calmed down and we've made sure Miheeka and the baby are doing well.
I squeeze Miheeka's hand lightly as she starts to tear up out of nervousness. The time to meet our baby boy is finally coming. Nurses bustle around the room making sure to get everything ready. The only people in the room other than the nurses are the doctor, me, and Miheeka's mom. Her dad, along with my parents, are now waiting outside in the lobby, and though we told them to stay home, they were too excited and wanted to meet their grandson right away. Miheeka's mom and I are both standing on either side of the bed while I'm squeezing her hand and kissing her forehead, her mom is rubbing on her arm and trying to help her relax. Miheeka's hair is pulled down in a low ponytail and a thin layer of sweat is coating her forehead while her face scrunches up and turns a little red as she bears the pain coming from her lower abdomen.
I look at her and give her a nod of reassurance when the doctor tells her it's time to start pushing.
"I'm scared Rana," She pleads with me, while squeezing my hand tightly as another contraction ripples through her.
