Prabhas's Pov:

I feel my bag start to vibrate on the seat next to me, so I pull my phone out and see Miheeka's contact. I turn the phone on speaker but keep my hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road.

"Hey what's up," I say into the phone.

"Are you busy or can we talk?" Her voice seems a little off, but I don't question it.

"No, I'm going home from work, so shoot."

"Is Anushka mad at me," Her voice is concerning and her question about their friendship out of the blue shocks me.

"No, not that I know of, why?" Miheeka and Rana, and Sam and Chay all went on their honeymoon around the same time, so it was just Anushka and I for almost two weeks. It's been a week since Anushka lost the baby, and the wound is still fresh for the both of us.

"She hasn't been answering my calls or texts. It's really making me worried."

Anushka has been shutting everyone out, even me. She's practically become a robot, work, eat, sleep, repeat. I understand what she's good through is hard but I wish she'd atleast talk to me, even cry to me instead of me having to wake up in the middle of the night to see her clutching her pregnancy tests and sobbing.

"We're going through something right now, especially her and I really don't know if she's ready to talk about it. She'll barely even open up to me, so I would just give it time. I'll talk to her once I get home, and if she's ok you and Rana can come over and we can catch up." She agrees, and we cut the phone after working out a few details. I pull into my parking spot and see that Anushka's car is here, so I know she is back from work.

"Anushka," I call out as soon as I walk into the apartment. I hear a muffled call back from the kitchen, so I drop my bag by the couch and walk to her. She is shuffling around by the stuff mixing around what looks like palak paneer. I wrap my arms around her waist from behind, and entwine my fingers so she can't escape from my hold.

"I missed you," I whisper into her ear, and kiss her neck.

"You saw me this morning," She relaxes in my arms slightly, but still doesn't lean against me.

"I know but I still missed you." I rub my cheek against hers lightly and frown as my scruff is rough against her softer cheek. I hold her in my arms as silence comes over us for a few seconds before I speak up again.

"Miheeka called when I was coming home."

"Um, why," Her voice is a little quieter.

"She was worried about you because you haven't been replying to her," I rub on her arms, trying to get her to open up and talk a little bit. She pushes out of my hold and walks to the fridge to grab heavy cream.

"I've been busy with work. You see me working all the time now," Her response is not at all convincing and she doesn't even look me in the eye.

"Bangaram, it's ok if you don't want to tell her yet. You don't have to, just don't lie to me. If you're feeling a certain way talk to me, I'm here, ok," I say to her softly. I take her free hand and rub on it lightly. Her eyes start to pool with tears which start falling as she walks into my arms. Her arms go around my neck as she cries against my chest.

"It still hurts Prabhas. It's like one moment, I have someone with me all the time, someone I'm gonna see in a few months and be a mommy to, and the next moment all that is gone and I'm by myself again." Her sobs are now quieter, but I still feel my shirt getting soaked through.

"It will get better. Talking about it can help, or trying to do other things that make you happy will help," I pull her head out of my chest so she is looking up at me.
