Chapter 40

Miheeka's Pov:

"Hey," I opened the door and let Anushka in. She walks in with two bags in her hands.

"We have a little less than two hours to get ready, so we are good on time," I say to her, taking the bags out of her hands as we walk upstairs. I place the bags on my desk and tell her she can start getting ready first while I pick my dress.

"Are you going to curl your hair," I ask her, while taking out my hair supplies.

"Ya, I brought my curler," She says, taking it out of her back.

"Are you ok," I ask her when she seems a little dull.

"I'm fine, just a little nervous," She gives me a knowing look. I nod my head before plugging her curling iron and setting her makeup out of the bag.

"Ya, you start on your hair, I'll finish my makeup," Anushka takes the brush from my hands and brushes it over her eyelid.

I curl my hair into light beach waves, similar to Anushka and we both do our makeup very naturally. We both put on our dresses, which are both a dark blue or black color.

"You look so stunning," she says to me. I thank her and pull her into a hug.

"You got this. Remember you are Anushka Shetty. You can do anything." she says while looking at herself in the mirror. I laugh and grab my purse as we walk downstairs.

I open the door when Rana texts me that they are here, "Hey," I stand up to peck his lips when he comes in.

Anushka's Pov:

I walk towards Prabhas and he pulls me into a hug.

"You look beautiful," He says to me while kissing my forehead and I feel myself blushing. We walk outside to the car and he opens the car door for me. I climb inside to the back seats and he gets in next to me. I feel a little bit of tension between us, but I can tell that he is trying to make it up to me. After the awkward car ride, we finally made it to their office. Prabhas takes my hand in his, and I smile at him gracefully. I feel a little out of place with all these business people, but his presence is comforting.

He takes his phone out of his pocket and pulls me close to him by his waist. I smile at the phone as he takes a few selfies of us, before closing his phone and putting them back into his pocket.

"Here, I'll introduce you to everyone. The people you haven't met yet," He says while laughing. I follow behind him as he takes me around the room, introducing me as his girlfriend to the few people who don't know me already.

"Um, this is Adya, my new assistant," He looks a little nervous while introducing us.

"Adya, this is my girlfriend, Anushka," He looks at me while saying.

She gives me a tight-lipped smile, while shaking my hand. I give a fake smile back, just trying to act polite. She immediately turns back to Prabhas, completely ignoring me, "Did you eat anything? Come with me, I'll show you the food." She grabs his hand and drags him away from me. He looks back at me helpless and I keep a straight face trying to contain my anger.

I walk away from there to look for Miheeka and Rana. I walk over to where Miheeka is standing and we excuse ourselves away from Rana.

"I can't with all his stupid business friends," She complains once we sit down.

"I can't with his new assistant," I say with a frown.

"What did she do," Miheeka looks at me and asks. I tell her what happened and she shakes her head.
