Chapter 75

Miheeka's Pov:

"Show me your arm," Anushka says to me in a concerned voice. My gaze shifts downwards. I haven't been taking care of it and only wrapping it when it completely bleeds through. She gently takes my hand and begins unwrapping the now red bandage. I cringe at the sight of my swollen red hand. It also doubled in size since the last time I checked on it. Anushkas gasps at the sight of it, "What is this Miheeka?" She reaches into a box and takes out a few balls of cotton and a dark bottle which I can't see the label on. She sets those on her lap and takes my hand back into her and feels the cutes on it slowly.

I look away from her and sigh. "I didn't know it wasn't this bad when I last checked it."

She puts my hand down. "Look I know your whole fight with Rana is bad and living here all alone while your parents are in America must be hard. But you can't neglect yourself like this. You have already hurt your hand quite a few times already and it's only getting more serious each time. If something happened to you what would happen to Krish."

I cringe when I see more blood already starting to ooze out from the cuts. I didn't use the right ointments on them so they didn't heal at all and some of them are reopening again which is making it worse.

"Do you think I need to get this checked out?" I ask with a slight frown.

"Are you even asking me that? Of course you have to!" She shaks her head at me and I can sense a little bit of annoyance towards me for asking such a stupid question. I watch as she dabs the cotton balls on the scars tracing down my palm.

"Ow, ow, ow," I chant out as the ointment seeps into the wounds and really hits my skin even deeper. She doesn't stop but loosen her grip on my hands and dabs more ointment onto the cotton ball.

"Book an appointment as soon as you can. If you need I'll come with you too," She says as she traces her fingers over the long cut over my pointer finger which she just applied the ointment to.

She stands up, telling me she's done applying the ointment and runs out of the room we are in to get a thicker bandage. I really am grateful that she's doing this for me. I know she has her family and life, but she's being the best friend I need right now and that's all I could ask for.

I look up towards the doorway when I hear her voice before she walks inside with two rolls in hands.

"I'll try these two," She explains while sitting down in front of me again and getting to work.

She sighs once she finishes and gives me a nod.

"That should be good enough for a few hours, but you have to keep changing it. I left the ointment and cotton on the table so use that and if it hurts more or doesn't get better call me and I'll give you something else. Make sure to book an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible too." She points a finger at me, giving me a stern look, the look a mom gives her kid when telling them to do something.

"Yes I will, promise." She stands up to move to the couch and I get up after her, careful to not put any pressure on my hand.

She glances at her phone for a second before leaning her back against the cushions and looking at me.

"What happened between you and Rana? I don't mean to pry but that happening because of your husband isn't normal." I look down at my lap, at my fingers which are entwined and shaking a little bit as I force myself to recollect the memories which haunt me every night since what happened. I take a deep breath, forcing the tear to stay in my eyes as I tell Anushka everything that happened.

By the time I finish, she has her arms around me, and is letting me lean my body against her as she rubs my hair in a motherly manner.

"I'm sorry Miheeka I really am. Neither of you deserve this, especially not you with Krish." All I feel is the sympathy and pity coming from her voice, and though my initial reaction to deny the pity, I need it right now.
