Summary: There's only one more story left to tell and that's the first one and the last one. And perhaps, those are two separate tales. Or maybe they're too interwoven to be distinguished
Third Person POV
"If I could hold you
Swear I'd never put you down"
Jonah rushed to the sound of crying, looking around to find a younger boy on the ground with wet cheeks. Holding his elbow as he wailed." What happened?" Jonah didn't know why he was always so worried about the kindergarteners.
" I-I-I fell o-off the sl-ide," he choked out, wiping at his nose.
Jonah looked up at the top and pouted," okay. Imma go get a teacher," he promised, going to stand only for the smaller to grab impossibly tight at his arm.
" Wait!" He squeaked," please don't go."
" But you're hurt," he argues, squatting back down.
The younger boy only looks up at him with big, watery blue and Jonah sighs.
" Okay, fine," he stands again and holds his hand out for him," then you can come with me."
The boy sniffs again and timidly takes his hand. Jonah pulls hard and he stumbles into his chest.
He wraps his little arms around the even littler boy and hugs him close.
A wet face tucks into his shoulder and... and Jonah doesn't ever wanna let go.
He doesn't know this boy's name and he's getting snot all over his favorite jacket.
And he doesn't ever wanna let him go.
"Let me be the one to lift your heart up and save your life
I don't think you even realize baby you'd be saving mine"
Corbyn was placed gently on the bed beisde his mother, blinking up at her," you tired, Momma?" He wondered, reaching up to lay a hand on her face." Momma's very tired, baby," she leaned into it and her son pouted.
" Why?"
" Because of him," she laughed, showing her oldest child the little bundle of blue and white in her arms.
Corbyn looked up at the little, patchy face peeking through, blinking wide eyes at him.
" What is he, Momma?"
" He's your new little brother. His name's Zach," she explained gently and he gasped, grinning big at her.
" You really mean it?!" He bounced gently on the bed, before stilling," wait, was he in your belly?" The two year old looking to her now flat stomach under the sheets.
His father chuckled and so did she," yes, he was in my belly."
Corbyn leaned over to get a better look," I waited a long time for you. Momma was round forever."
Little eyes peeked open at him and they were brown. A warm, rich brown.
" You're my little brother, you know?" Corbyn pressed more into his Mom to see him better," I watched The Rugrats Movie a bazillion times so I would know how to treat 'cha."
He made a small noise.
" I gotta look after ya. Gotta make sure your always okay," Corbyn reached up to gently touch his tiny cheek. Smiling when a little tongue poked out at him," Imma take care of you forever, Zach."
She moved the newborn closer and Corbyn happily pressed their noses together, giggling when the little one cooed.
My little brother, the toddler would think in wonder.
