Chapter 15: Some are understanding...

((Remember her hair is really really long to it's really thick at the top of the braid and thinner near the bottom))

Salacia POV

I felt myself wake up thought my eyes did not open. I could feel I was in the comforting embrace of someone, their strong body pressed against my back. I felt on arm holding me across my chest under my upper arm and an arm wrapping around my stomach under my waist. I squirmed slightly in the persons grasp until I heard a displeased groan and a face being buried into my neck. I was utterly confused as to who was spooning me until I finally woke up enough to remember last night. It was Fili. I wormed my way around so I was facing him. I looked up at him with I'm sure what was a dorky smile. His eyes where still closed and his lips where slightly parted. I giggled seeing one of his mustache braids dangling. I flicked it for entertainment/trying to wake him up. Suddenly his eyebrows furrowed and he arched his head back slightly. "What are you doing?" He asked. Oh mahal was his voice low in the morning. I giggling, "how can you have mustache braids and expect me not to play with them?" I asked. His blue eyes met my green and he grinned. "I guess, since you are so childish." He said. I gasped. "How dare you!! Your way more childish than me!!" I said rolling over on top of him before straddling his lap, he sat up and held onto my butt to keep me from falling backwards. "Oh really?? What gives you that idea." He asks with a grin. "I...I...uh..." I was stopped...he wasn't childish. Damnit. It's Kili that's childish. "I believe you where thinking of my brother." He said with a smug smile. I rolled my eyes, "yeah. I was. Your right." I said defeated. He chuckled and moved his hands up to my waist before kissing me lovingly. I smiled into the kiss and wrapped my arms around his neck. Out of nowhere someone banged on the door. I...screeched...an inhuman noise and flung myself away from Fili onto the floor. "What in Durin's name was that?!? Salacia are alright!!?!" It was Thorin. I looked at Fili and held a finger to my lips. "Uh, y-yeah im all good!" I said running to the door. I turned and gestured for Fili to hide and he quietly ran to the bathroom. I opened the door and grinned nervously. "What on earth was that noise?!" He asked wide eyed and confused. "Uh, heh that was me..." I said. "What?! How does one make a noise like that?" He asked. "Uh their scared shitless by a dwarven King banging on my bedroom door." I said with a raised eyebrow. He scowled, "I suppose I could have been gentler. I came to ask, and tell you something." He said. My eyes widened, "uh...what?" I asked. "Well first we all made ye breakfast as thanks for allowing us into your home." He said. "Awe~ thanks! And your question?" I asked trying not to sound nervous. "Oh, have you seen Fili?" He asked. "Oh! Uh...nope...can't say I have. Maybe he's out back?" I asked. "Oh, we haven't looked there. Thanks lass, come and get it while Bofurs holding Bombur off." He said with a smile. I giggled and nodded, "alright! I gotta brush through this unruly mane of mine then I'll be down!" I said. He nodded and went back downstairs. I closed the door and Fili burst out laughing. I smiled, "that...was intense." I said. He came out laughing and wiped a tear out of his eyes, "what's so funny???" I asked. "Your...screech! What was that?!?" He laughed. "I have no idea...I think it was like a bird crossbred with a warg and cat." I said grinning. He smile and hugged me lifting me slightly. "That was beautiful!" He said. "Yeah yeah, get dressed!" I said, I went and sat down on the bed. "Aren't you?" He asked. "I'm not stripped to my undies~ so I'm good!" I said grinning. He nodded, "well shouldnt you at least be "taming your unruly mane?" Like you told Thorin?" He asked. I looked at my long tangled hair and nodded. "Yeah...I should." I said hopping off the bed and going to the bathroom. I tried getting the knots out but they weren't budging and I just kept crying out in slight pain. "Agh! Damnit!!!!" I growled as i dropping the brush...however it didn't fall due to the cause that it was STUCK IN MY HAIR. "Need help?" I heard Fili ask from the bedroom. "Uh...maybe." I said. He walked in, fully dressed and got the brush out. "Come on," he said taking my hand and sitting me on the bed, he sat down behind me and pulled all my hair to fall behind my back. "Do you ever cut your hair?" He laughed as he began to brush it. "Uh I think I've only cut it once...and that was like thirty *yelp*" "sorry" he said. "It's fine...uh yeah thirty years ago." I said. "I rarely cut mine." He said. I laughed, "really? I couldn't tell." I said. I felt him brushing away at knots carefully, doing it in a way that didn't pull my hair. "Alright, I think I got them all." He said running the brush, then his fingers through my hair. I leaned back and looked at him upside down. "Thank you~" I said. He grinned and pecked my lips. "I...want blue hair." I said. "What? You can make your hair blue?" He asked. I nodded and got off the bed and scurried to my bag and got out blue crushable pellets. "What are those?" Fili asked. "These, my darling dwarf, are how my hair is currently this white, purplish color. Remember how I had brown and blond when you first met me?" I asked. He nodded. "Yeah! These can change my hair color to any color I want." I said. "That's a lot of pellets." He said. "Well I have a lot of hair." I said going past him into the bathroom. I crushed the pellets in my hand and rubbed the power all throughout my hair. I had grabbed various shades of blue so i was excited for this. After I saw my long hair turn different shades of blue I grinned and rinsed my hair in the tub quickly. I rung my hair out them used a wind spell to dry it. I walked back into the bedroom where Fili was fiddling with his dagger. "What do you think?" I asked pulling my hair over my shoulder. He looked up and his eyes went wide. "That's amazing!!" He said standing and quickly coming over to me. "Awe~ thanks." I said. "Want me to braid it?" He asked. "Agh that would look so cool!!!! Please!!!~" I said excited. He laughed and had me turn around. He quickly did a brilliant fishtail braid down my back before I pulled it over my shoulder. I smiled while seeing the beautiful colors twisted together. "Thank you!!" I said jumping and hugging him. "Come on, I'm hungry." He said. I let go but he kept my hand in his. "Yeah me too, I hope Bombur didn't get to the food yet." I said. We walked downstairs, hand in hand. However we didn't think about how we had decided to keep it quiet until Balin came around the corner. He looked at us and we quickly released eachOther's hand. He smirked, "well well well, ya finally told her laddie?" He asked Fili. He nodded and grinned slightly, "but please don't say anything!" He said. Balin held up his hands, "I won't breath a word." He said. "Thanks Balin~" I said happily. Fili and I walked into the kitchen to be greeted by the others. "Fili! Where have you been??" Kili asked. "I've been outside." He said. "Oh...we looked out there though..." He said. "He's sneaky obviously." I smiled before pushing past both of them and getting a plate of food before joining the others.

After all the food was gone and the dwarves decided to sing and toss my plates, bowls and glasses around and me franticly chasing after them. I think I finally knew how bilbo felt...this was not fun. They cleaned all the dishes and put away I ran upstairs and dressed myself before meeting all of them outside. I saw Gandalf wasn't there. "Where's Gandalf?" I asked. "He went off last night." Bofur said. "Ugh I wanted to apologize to him." I said as I got rid of the light in my house and locked it. We set off on our way quickly, Thorin leading the group.

We traveled over hills and plains and under tunnels. Thorin hadn't let us take a break since we left my house six hours ago. I suck next to Fili, chatting with him about random things. It was then that I noticed Thorin kept glancing back at me, as did Kili. I averted my gaze. Suddenly Kili jumped inbetween us. "Hey Salacia~" Kili said with a grin. "H-hey Kili!" I said nervously. He threw an arm over my shoulder and smiled at me, "wanna sit with me when we camp tonight? It's supposed to be really cold, we could share my blanket?" He said grinning. I blushed and said nothing. Suddenly Fili shoved Kili forward with a glare, "she's sitting with me tonight. Go cuddle with Dwalin." He snapped. Kili looked utterly shocked. "Is that true??" He asked me. I nodded, "yeah...I did already say I would sit with him." I said quietly scratching my arm avoiding his eyes. He groaned irritated. "Fine, then can we walk together now? Since your with him later?" He asked. I looked at Fili, he sighed and rolled his eyes, "fine. I'll see you later Salacia." He said walking ahead. I was sad not to be with Fili but for the sake of keeping it a secret...he probably thought it was best to just let Kili hang out with me. "You've been hanging around my brother a lot lately." Kili said. "Oh uh, yeah I guess." I said. "Why? Is there...something going on between you two?" He asked. I panicked and shook my head, "w-what?! Of course not!!!" I said nervously laughing. Kili gave me a "really? Do you think I'm stupid" look. "Salacia...if you like my brother that's perfectly fine. It's not my choice who you ended up falling for!" He said with a smile. I looked at him surprised, "wh-what? Your not...mad or anything?" I asked. He laughed and shook his head before hugging me. "Of course not!!! Your one of my best friends, as long as I can keep you as that I'm happy!" He said. I laughed and hugged him. "Thanks Kili, your sweet." I said. "Soooo tell me the truth, you and Fili are a thing?" He asked. "Yeah we are, but how did you figure it out?" I asked. He rolled his eyes and lifted the tip of my braid, "do you not think I wouldn't recognize my own brothers braiding style and his braid bead?" He asked. My eyes widened, "mahal, I never noticed the bead...and wait he doesn't have braids like this." I said. "Yeah but he is best at doing braids like that. He used to do those for me." He said. "Oh, well their really pretty." I said grinning. "Yeah, I like the hair by the way, really brings out the wizard vibe." He said. I laughed, "yeah, I like colorful hair." I said smacking him with my braid. "Damn that things like a weapon!" He laughed dodging me. "Yeah I'll beat you and your bow and arrows easily!" I teased. He smiled, "so when are you two gonna tell the others?" He asked. "Oh, i mean..the only person I was really wanting to hide it from was you..." I said. He gave me a hurt expression, "how heartbreaking, you really need to give me the benefit of the doubt." He said. I smiled, "yeah sorry...can Fili come an walk with us?" I asked. "Of course I just wanted to ask you about all that stuff." He said. I smiled, "FILI!!!" I yelled. He flinched and turned around, I waved my hand to come to us. He stopped and waited for us to catch up to him. "Soooo I guess your brother already figured it out, and he doesn't care." I said laughing. Fili smiled, "then why'd you ask to sit with her tonight?! And the cold thing?!" He asked irritated. "Oh, that was to conclude my suspicion. If you two whereby together you wouldn't have smacked me." He said. I raised my eyebrows, "wow that's actually pretty smart." I said. Fili laughed and nodded, "your an idiot Ki." He said. "Yeah whatever." He said walking on the other side of me. Fili slipped his hand into mine, not worried about who knew anymore. I smiled and squeezed his hand. At various times a dwarf would turn around and see us, giving Fili a smug smile. I suddenly noticed Bilbo looking with a smile before he turned his attention and walked beside Thorin. I saw him glance up at Thorin with a fond expression, I suddenly felt an intense wave of admiration come from him. My jaw dropped and Kili and Fili looked at confused. "What's wrong??" Kili asked. I closed my mouth and snickered. "Uh, nothing...nothing at all, come on guys we're falling behind." I said before tugging them ahead.
