Salacia POV

I hung from my chains, my body felt limp and helpless, like a child beaten to a bloody mess. I couldn't help but feel the disappointment and hatred radiating from the company through Kili's energy. 'They hate me...they think I abandoned them' I thought. I focused what little energy I had left on Thorin's energy...though it was difficult, the second I felt boiling rage stinging my body and pinching at my stomach with guilt I knew I had reached it. "T-Thorin..." I whispered, non-audible. "Please do not resent me...I-i need you...p-please help me." I Thought through my mind, trying to reach his, though I had high doubts it would work. I missed them, the dwarves. I missed all of them so much, even Fili. I missed their funny and occasionally inappropriate jokes and story's. I missed smoking with Thorin and Dwalin and blowing rings, however I would blow out various shaped like butterflies and hummingbirds, watching them grumble in jealousy. I missed Bofur and Bomburs cooking, rabbit stew sounded like nothing but heaven. I winced as the freezing air nipped at my skin. I missed feeling Thorin's strong arms holding me, encasing me in his body heat that soothed my mind and his strong that somewhat smelt like soap and iron invading my nose. I hissed in pain as an air bubble flowed into my blood stream, popping, once again. I looked down through hazy vision at the buckets....they where near empty. I looked at them sadly and felt sorrow...was this is? Was this all I would become? Being in the position I was right now? Half alive and gasping for breath...it made me think back to when I was a child, before I had been taken under the watch of the white counsel. Free to where I could do as I pleased and not worry about a thing in the world....back to when I first met Gandalf.

*Flash back* seven years old

I ran through the forest, my bare feet smushing into the slightly dampened dirt. My hair flew behind me, Sparks and water droplets flew from its tips. My hair was a glowing small fire twisted with water from the energy I had pulsing from me at the moment, I had vine like markings on my forearms and I could run as light as air. I had a small satchel across my chest filled with colorful gems and rocks I had found. I jumped at the sound of small paws running across the ground. I looked to my right and saw a small family of Foxes and smile. "Pretty puppies!!!!" I giggled before running along with them, jumping and diving over fallen logs. Animals loved me, felt no threat coming from me. I stopped to breath and watched the family continue on. I walked a little ways to the east, coming to a small clear river. I kneeled down and scooped some water into my palm before sipping it quietly. I noticed my long hair had calmed to its soft brown color. "Why what do we have here?" I jumped hearing a voice behind me. I stood and turned to see a tall...middle age looking man. "W-who are you?" I asked backing away, stepping into the river. "Now don't be afraid of me dear, I mean to bring you no harm." He said. "How do I know?" I asked. "Well, if I did, you would be dead already." He said with a small grin. "I-I guess..." I said stepping towards him. "Pray tell me, what is your name my dear?" He asked me. "Salacia, my name is Salacia." I said holding my small hand up. "No maiden name?" He asked. "Well...no...I never knew my parents." I said. "Ah, well that is a shame." He said with a disgruntled face. "Well, what is someone so young doing wandering the forest alone? You could get hurt you know." He said. "I...I don't have anywhere to go though." I said. "There is a place, it could very well be a safe haven for you for years to come." He said. "W-what's a safe haven?" I asked. "A safe haven is a place where you are always welcome and safe." He said kneeling down. "Oh...where is it?" I asked. "In an Elvish kingdom, called Rivendell." He said. My eyes widened, "elves?" I asked somewhat scared. "Yes, elves. They are a kind race. They will care for you, teach you." He said. "But...what about my markings? I'm a freak...they will turn me away." I said crossing my arms in attempt to cover my arms. "Come now, you are not a freak...you are magical." He said. "What?" I asked. "You my dear, have magical, celestial abilities as well as elemental." He said. "W-what? How can you tell?!?" I asked utterly confused. "My dear you are a wizard, as am I! Do you think I did not see you a little whiles ago with fiery hair laced with water?!" He asked with a raised eyebrow. I blushed slightly. "I am Gandalf, Gandalf the Grey." He said. I couldn't help but smile slightly at the presence of this nice man then frown. "Wait...aren't Wizards supposed to be tall?" I asked. "Well...most are, that doesn't mean they have to be." He said. I nodded slightly. "Now, my dear Salacia, shall we get going to Rivendell?" He asked. I nodded and walked beside him. "Are you sure they won't turn me away?" I asked quietly looking up at him. "Of course, if anything, they will be interested." He said. I smiled and walked beside him once again, my bare little feet smashing into the dampened mud, listening to the wizard tell me of the other wizards who live among Middle-Earth.
