I held my breath as the woman inched her face closer to mine. 'Nonononono!!!' I screamed in my head. "Oh come on my sweet little hunk of dwarf~!" She slurred, her rancid breath making my very beard cringe. "Commer~!" She said. My eyes darted to my company who where at a complete loss at what to do. "HEY!" I heard a familiar angry voice. "THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!" I turned my head and saw Salacia shoving a small boy into Dwalins arms. "Hold him. EY! GET OFF HIM!" She yelled storming towards us. "Who the hell are you?" The woman on top of me slurred as she let go of me and stomped towards Salacia. "Doesn't matter who I am. What matter is GET AWAY FROM MY DWARVES." she yelled. Suddenly the woman swung her bulky arm at her, only for Salacia to hop Over it and nail the woman in the jaw. I jumped up and went to my company who was cheering her on. "YEAH SALACIA!!!!" Fili and Kili cheered. "If he didn't want me he woulda pushed me away!" The woman growled, I cringed 'I wanted to...' I thought. "Yeah well," Salacia said dodging another hit while kicking up and knocking the woman in the ear. "Dwarves are a lot more polite, and have more respect for women than men. Trust me sweetheart, I'm sure your very nice when not hammered off your ass," she said before she swung the woman into the bar, as she watched her fly she placed her hands on her bare hips, which accented her beautiful curvy body perfectly. "But why would they want you when they got a hot broad like me struttin around?" She asked with a smirk. I laughed loudly and watched as the drunken woman stood back up. "Fuck you!" She bellowed. "Yeah yea "fuck me", now get out! I don't want to fight in front of a kid." She snarled. The woman huffed and trudged her self out the door. I watched Salacia stretch her back and turn to us. "Well that was fun" she said walking towards Dwalin, taking the boy...wait...who the hell is he. "Um, Salacia..." I said. "Hm?" She asked while pushing the boys hair out of his eye. "Oh!! This is Oliver, my apprentice~" she said. "Apprentice???" I asked along with the others, as well as the boy. "Yep! He's a blossoming wizard, I can feel it." She said with a proud smile. "So...will Oliver be joining us?" Dwalin asked. She smiled and nodded. "No." I said. "What?" She asked. "I said no! I will not have a child in my company! I'm sorry Salacia, but I am drawing the line here!" I snapped. I saw her look at me then to Oliver. "If you will not take him, you will not take me!!!" She argued back. "Salacia! Do not be an idiot!!! You know we need you!!!" I yelled. I looked at the boy and noticed his eyes beginning to water. "See! Look at him! He's weak and useless to us!!!" I growled. Salacia shot daggers at me before she suddenly conjured what looked like a stuffed rabbit toy, giving it to Oliver who hugged it. She then handed him to Kili, "Kili, would you hold him for a moment?" She asked. Kili nodded and took the boy. "Can we have this conversation outside?" she asked. I nodded and led the way, the girl close behind. As soon as the door closed she snapped. "What the hell Thorin?!!" She growled. "It is MY company! I will be who decides who joins." I snapped back. "T-Thorin he has no where to go! And nobody who can properly care for him!!" She said. "I don't care! I will not have a child in this company!!!" I yelled. "What if it where Fili and Kili in Oliver's position?! Would you turn them away?" She asked. I growled under my breath. "Yes! Because if it where Kili and Fili in that boys position I wouldn't know them!" I said. "So you would turn away your own kin, defenseless dwarfish children, in a town among men where the only adults who attempted to care for them beat them?" She asked. I looked dead into her bright green eyes. "Salacia what happened? How did you come by this boy?" I asked. "Oliver. His name is Oliver." She said. I pinched the bridge of my nose, "Oliver. How did you come by Oliver?" I asked through my gritted teeth. "Well...while I was on my way to the tavern I heard shouting and a woman crying...so my "greater good" instincts kicked in and I went to go see what was wrong." She said. "Go on." I said. "So the woman explained that she caught her husband sleeping with some slutty hooker and yelled at him and he kicked her out however her son was still in the house and she feared for him because the father beat him. So I told her I would get her son back for her." Salacia said while she wandered away and sat on the edge of the dock. "So I went in and spoke with the dad, who still had the hooker clinging to him and asked him where his son was, we argued for a little while then gave me the information that the wife was only using Oliver for pity and food....as well as giving me information that Oliver had special abilities." She said. "Like you?" I asked. "Yes, similar. Anyways, we bantered then he finally called Oliver down and I saw he was crying his eyes out from fear and I asked him if his father beated him, he said yes. Then I took Oliver from the father who in return called me a freak just like him before I sent the man flying back when he tried to run at me and take Oliver." She said. "Why didn't you give the boy back to his mother?" I asked. "I'm getting to that. Since I was told that She only used him for food, I asked her. She admitted it after a little while then got angry. I told her...I sort of felt like he would be better off with me because I could teach him to control his abilities...and I didn't want him being used just for food and attention! Children need love and care Thorin! Though then she got angry told me to take him because I was a "freak" like him then ran off." She said with a sigh. "So...the boy was dumped on you?" I asked. "Well...no, but I wanted to take him. He's a very sweet boy Thorin. I promise he won't be in your way." She said. "...I don't know....I really don't want a child coming with us." I said. Suddenly I felt soft lips pressing against my cheek before her soft hair against my shoulder and neck. "Thorin...don't make me leave Oliver...he's already been abandoned twice...I don't want to make it a third." She whispered. "...he better not be in any of our ways, keep him on a chained leash Salacia." I said lowly. "What??? He can come?!" She asked surprised. "He seems...to mean a lot to you. As well as I do not want him to be alone, putting my displeasure of his presence aside...I do not want to abandon a child in this disgusting place." I said. "Oh Thorin!!!!" She gushed as she suddenly hugged me tightly around the neck, pushing my back to the ground. "I love you so much!!!!" She said happily. I sighed and hugged her back before slightly nudging her to stand up. "Are you sure about this?" She asked. "No. I'm not. I can't afford to lose you, and I can tell you will not be willing to come unless he does." I grumbled. "Well," she said before pushing herself onto her toes kissing my jaw. "Well...thank you for letting him come, even against your wishes." She said. "Yes...of course." I said. "Come on, I want to make sure the company isn't torturing the poor boy." She said as she walked around me and towards the tavern door. I sighed watching her walk back, 'I can't believe I have to have a child in this company...like I honestly wanted one of the things I hated added into this journey...I'd rather have elves.' I thought as I walked back to the tavern.
