Chapter 7: The Boxing Match

Gyro peaked his head into the cabin. Thankfully Mark and Ellie weren't there.

"Gloria. You awake?" Gyro decided it was okay to step in, Boyd quick to follow behind.

Gloria rubbed her eyes and sat up in her bed. "Yeah. What's up? Is it dinner time already?" All this bitch thinks about it food.

"No. It's 2 pm." Gyro scoffed like she should already know that. "But, um, I wanted to introduce you to Boyd. My... son..." Gyro could barely spit the word out. It felt so wrong to say and he didn't know why.

Boyd jumped forward and got in Gloria's face, with a huge smile. "Hi! I'm Boyd! A definitely real boy!" He held out a hand.

Gloria smiled and shook his hand. "Aw! It's so nice to meet you, Boyd! I'm Gloria." She looked over at Gyro. "I had no idea that you had a son."

"Ummm... yep!" God, now she was never going to be his girlfriend. "He was looking after another family that he cared about but he's going to be staying with me again. And move into the cabin if... the other two won't be a problem."

She laughed "Maybe we can kick them out so Boyd can take one of their beds." Obviously that wasn't going to happen. Ellie scared her. There were a lot of questions she wanted to ask Gyro about but she didn't want to bring it up in front of Boyd. She smiled and looked down at Boyd again. "I really like your bowtie! Looks like you get fashion tips from your dad then, huh?"

"Yes, I do! I had a bowtie the moment I was born!"

Holy shit. Gyro was really dedicated when it came to bowties.

Mark busted into the room before Gloria could comment. "Yo yo yooooooo! What's up losers! Marky B is in da house and- Boyd? Yooooo what's up, little dude! Haven't seen you in a while! Fist bump!" Mark held out his fist for Boyd.

Now Gloria was even more confused. How the hell did Mark already know Boyd so well?!

"U-um hi, Mr. Mark..." He backed up to hide behind Gyro.

Gyro started to get aggressive. "If you speak to him or so much as interact with him in any way, Mark, I swear to Duck Jesus I will-"

Ellie, with Kyle on her shoulder, peaked around Gyro so she had a good view of Boyd.

"Hello, small child. I declare you to be my son now." She held out Kyle. "And this is your brother, Kyle."

That freaked Boyd out more. He had never seen Ellie before. He moved to have Gyro block him from Ellie instead. "Uhhhh..."

"You two are scaring him! Leave him alone!" Gloria snapped.

"I did not scare him. Look." Ellie pointed to Boyd cowering behind Gyro. "That looks like a completely content child to me."

Gyro snapped back. "When I said Mark won't be able to speak to him or interact with him in any way, that included you, Ellie!"

"You think I would hurt an organic child? That is rude. I would only do so if they get in my way." Holy shit. Anyway, Ellie scanned him and her face lit up. "Oh! He is an android like me!"

That made Gyro even more mad. "No! He is a definitely real boy!"

Mark backed Ellie up. "Uhhhhh no? Homeboy over here," He pointed to Boyd. "Short circuited in a kid's pool that one time."

Boyd stayed silent. He wanted to run out of the room but there wasn't anywhere for him to go.

"Why do you not trust us around a child, Gyro?" Ellie asked. "I am completely capable of being a caretaker. Look how healthy this Floridian Cockroach is. He has been in my care for one hour, one minute, and thirty one seconds, and is healthier than ever."
