"Alright, Kyle. I am going to... attempt to work things out with Mark." Ellie didn't know how to feel about it to be quite honest. Her and Mark hadn't spoken in days. Even if Ellie didn't forgive him, they at least needed to clear up the awkward air. "I hope you do not mind, but I would like to speak to him privately." She placed Kyle down outside of the cabin.

"No problem, mother." Kyle scuttled off into the woods to have a tea party with his cockroach friends. They had been planning it all week. Kyle honestly thought he was pretty close to getting a date with the local roach babe, Christina.

Ellie entered the cabin. She thought no one was there at first, which was honestly a relief, until she noticed Mark on the top bunk. He was hard to notice considering he was under the blankets, most likely playing Mario Kart.

She was quick to act. She climbed onto his bunk and sat at the end by his feet.

"I am ready to hear your apology that you have had five days, twelve hours, thirty-two minutes, and six seconds to prepare for." Damn. She cut straight to the point.

Oh fuck... was Mark supposed to come up with a formal apology? Looks like he was going to have to wing it like he always does with important shit. Mark sat up on his bed and stopped playing Mario Kart. You know he was serious when Mario Kart was paused. "Right. Okay. Here's my apology... can I sing it as a rap?"

"No."

"Aw man! Fine..." Damnit. He thought that would've been so cool. To just freestyle his feelings. Looks like he was going to have to apologize like a mature adult would. He sighed "Okay... So I clearly fucked up. But not just fuck up, I fucked up big time and it hurt your feelings so... I'm sorry. I've been hating these past few days when we wouldn't talk. It's been really hella boring and lonely and I will do anything it takes to make you talk to me again, Ellie."

She crossed her arms. "You cannot just say you are sorry. You have to say what you are sorry for and why." She was talking to him like he was a literal child. With the mindset he had, it was pretty accurate.

"Alright. I'm sorry for not doing anything about your arm... and the entire thing with Steelbeak for that matter. It was probably really scary for you and I acted like I didn't care at all when you first came back to the cabin. That wasn't cool. I'm sorry that I didn't know about your pain tolerance and your programming. I brushed it off like it was nbd even though you were clearly upset over it. I screwed up because I didn't say the right things when you probably needed someone with #boyfriendgoals to be there for you. And I already said this but imma say it again. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please tell me." Mark scratched the back of his head. "... So are we going to be cool? I mean like... are you willing to forgive me? I don't want to be in this awkward silent treatment thing anymore."

It took Ellie a moment to respond. "That apology was idiotic, but I will forgive you anyway because I find your stupidity charming." She nodded to herself before pausing. "BUT," You knew she wasn't playing around when she screamed in all caps. "I want an explanation for why you left Boyd for dead in a swimming pool. He told me the entire story and acted like he wasn't bothered by it when he clearly was. You better have a good explanation. I am more upset over what you did to him than what you did to me."

Mark put his hands up like he was surrendering. "Yep. You caught me on that one, chief. I did leave Boyd at the party... but- and this is going to sound kinda bad, but I had no idea that robots... really had feelings? I had never met a robot or any form of technology like that before. Which is saying a lot because, uh, hello!?" He gestured to himself "Youngest billionaire here who literally makes his living off of tech!" He continued "But anyways... I legit didn't know that about Boyd. Really the first time that I knew robots could have emotions was from you. You're really out here changing the game for technology, queen!" He started to clap for her. Hopefully flattery could help him out in this apology.
