"I-I dunno guys... this outfit is k-kinda itchy..." Wyatt looked down at himself. "D-do I-I atleast look good?"
Mia nodded. "You look like a cute western gentleman, Wyatt. Don't worry about it."
He blushed. "O-oh, okay. Thanks. Y-you guys look good too."
Gyro crossed his arms and scoffed. "No we don't but whatever."
Eventually Abigail walked over with a tray of cookies. "Where y'all folks from? Seems like this is a new culture for you."
"Further West. We're from the area with all the gold minin'!" Of course Gloria was going to be a little shit about their situation and play along. She pulled a fake accent and everything. She knew exactly what to say given she was from Kansas. Abigail was even able to find her a classic cowboy hat that she wore proudly. She may be having a bit too much fun in the old west.
"Glo, what the fuck?" Heidi snorted. It was fucking hilarious but there was no way Abigail was going to buy that-
"Really? Well, that explains the attire! You must have a lot of endurance to survive in that business. But it's good to say a modern day woman pushing against our hardships." Abigail clasped her hands together in excitement. Wow! Women were really moving forward in the world!
"Oh, hey! I grew up in a gold mining town, Gloria!" Steelbeak wasn't catching on that this was a game. He literally grew up in a gold mining town as a child. The only difference was that it had electronics. Not that people in Texas paid much attention to that. They prefer hate crimes and bull riding over tech.
"Ellie and her children are from the city, so you must know them from gold deliveries, correct?"
"W-wait..." Wyatt put his hands up. "Children? T-that's plural and-"
"Hello."
Everyone was silent until Wyatt spoke up. "Who- Who said that?" It was a deep voice so it was a little unnerving to hear.
"Down here."
Everyone looked down at the cockroach on the table.
"Greetings. I remember meeting some of you back at Camp GodGold. Allow me to reintroduce myself. I'm Kyle, Ellie's son."
Heidi looked at the now empty glass and squinted. "Is there something in the water?"
Kyle chuckled. "No. The water is fine. I really am talking to you."
It took a good moment but eventually Mia screamed and threw one of the couch pillows at him (Abigail didn't appreciate that).
Boyd was quick to shield him with his body. "No wait! He really is talking, he's not just a bug!"
Kyle looked up at Boyd in amazement; his eyes twinkled. His adoptive brother, who he kept hostage, just saved him! Wow!
Gyro knelt down in front of Kyle and looked at Boyd while pointing to him. "How can it talk?"
"That's he to you." Kyle answered. "Ellie taught me all the way back at the camp. None of you believed her but I am here to prove otherwise."
Gyro laughed. "That's impossible! Your brain isn't capable to understand or comprehend language."
Kyle crossed his arms. "Well that's really rude of you, sir. I'm not standing here questioning your intelligence."
"That's it." Heidi took off her fancy western heel. "I'm squishing this little bitch."
"STOP!" Ellie ran in and slapped Heidi's heel out of her hand before picking Kyle up to shield him, holding him close to her chest. "WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO HURT HIM?!"
