Chapter 48: Baseball With Boyd

Gyro was in the middle of brushing his teeth when he saw Ellie's reflection in the motel bathroom mirror. He practically choked on the toothpaste.

"What the hell?! How did you get in here?!"

"I broke in."

"Wha- and you couldn't have knocked?!"

Ellie shook her head. "No. You take too long to answer." She stated bluntly. "Anyway, I came by to pick up Boyd."

Gyro looked past Ellie at Boyd who was still asleep.

"I'll wake him up in a second." Gyro put his toothbrush down and crossed his arms. "Did you get anything good on Heidi?"

"Yes, I did. Here. I will message you the evidence." Ellie took out her phone to text Gyro the creepy photos she took, along with all the notes. "To some it up. My theory was correct. Heidi does fond over Gloria, she also plans on marrying Mark to get a hold on his money. You will see all the proof if you read my notes."

Gyro skimmed the text messages. There was indeed a shit ton of notes and he wasn't going to take the time to analyze everything right then and there. "Did you speak to Gloria yet?"

"No, but I did attempt to speak to Mark." She rolled her eyes. "He did not believe me as you may expect."

Gyro scoffed. "Why did you speak with Mark first? You should have spoken to Gloria!"

"I am on 'okay terms' with Mark, not with Gloria."

"And you think I'm on 'okay terms' with Gloria? She thinks I cheated on her!"

Ellie mimicked Gyro and crossed her arms. "I spoke with my ex, so you will speak with your ex. Besides, if you put effort into stalking like I did, then we will have even more evidence."

"I don't stalk! That's insane!"

"We had a deal! You cannot expect me to do all the work! So you will be the one to speak with Gloria. Understood?" She dug a finger into his chest which Gyro was quick to slap away.

"Fine! I'll speak with Gloria today. And if that doesn't work then I'll 'stalk'. Happy?!"

Ellie couldn't even respond before they both heard a loud bang come from the door. Tina and Dingles, two members from Heidi's gang barged into the room carrying weapons and handcuffs. Our girl Tina didn't fuck around. Homegirl had a dagger and a pistol. Dingles just had a bat. Pretty basic but it would get the job done.

"Dingles, stay by the door. Make sure no one leaves."

Dingles did a salut with the hand that was holding the bat. Of course he accidentally hit himself with the bat but his head was too empty to feel any pain. "Aye aye, captain!"

Tina ran into the bathroom where Ellie and Gyro were and pointed the pistol at their heads. "Alright you two, you're coming with us!"

Dingles yelled out "That sounds too cliche, T!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, DINGLES!"

He frowned. "Oh, uh... sorry..." Man. Tina never took his advice! He had prepared a less cliche script and everything!

"ANYWAY," Tina turned back to Gyro and Ellie. "You two are getting in Heidi's way so we're here to handle it."

Ellie eyed Tina up and down, then she looked over and Dingles. "You two are a part of Heidi's gang? You do not look like gang members."

Gyro shot Ellie a look. "Shut up." He spat before looking back at Tina. "Okay. We'll do whatever you say. Just don't hurt-"

"Mom? Dr. Gearloose? What's going on?" Boyd sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes.
