"The end!" Ellie just finished reading Boyd's favorite bedtime story... or the other Boyd's favorite bedtime story that is. It was the one with the dragon and the princess.

Boyd gave her a faint smile. "Thank you for the lovely fictional tale. I really enjoyed it." He had smiled more today than he ever has. Well, as much as Boyd was aware, that is. "I'll just power down now if you do not need me for anything else today."

Ellie shook her head. "No, I do not need you for anything else. But would you like some warm milk? It used to help you fall asleep, but I understand if you would like to deny my offer."

"If it helped me fall asleep in the past, I'm not opposed to it. Thank you, Ellie."

"Alright." Ellie got up from Boyd's bed and walked over to Mark who was lying down and laughing at TikToks. "Look out for Boyd for me while I go fetch him some milk. I should be back in approximately ten minutes."

Mark gave her a thumbs up, keeping his eyes glued to his phone. "You got it, babe!"

Ellie grabbed her purse and left. The lobby certainly had milk in the 24/7 hotel cafe.

When the elevator doors opened for her, there was a broad and tall man on the inside. He looked like a businessman which didn't come as a surprise. A lot of business meetings were held in Las Vegas for some reason. Probably because everyone in the business industry is depressed.

When the man didn't press the close button, Ellie scoffed and stepped in front of him to do it herself. She wasn't in the best of moods with all the stress of Boyd, so that tiny inconvenience pissed her off. She tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for the elevator to reach ground level.

Ellie heard the man whisper into his watch. She couldn't hear what he said but she knew it was something in code. Before the elevator doors opened, the man in the suit came up behind Ellie and hit her in the back of her head, powering her off instantly. He had to know where to hit to cause a serious blow like that. Ellie's body fell to the floor and the man spoke into his watch again. "Alright. I got her."

The elevator doors swung open for the lobby but the man quickly closed them again, pressing the basement level button so no one would be able to see him leave with Ellie.

Past Gloria and Gyro were watching Gloria's comfort movie. Yes, it was Ratatouille.

Gyro wanted the curtains open to enjoy the night view, but Gloria insisted on keeping them closed.

Gyro kept his arm around her as she snuggled up to him, something she didn't do very often.

"So, uh, you said you saw Mia at the bar? How is she doing after all these years?" Gyro decided to keep the conversation light. He wasn't going to force Gloria to talk about whatever was wrong. If she hadn't mentioned it before, then he trusted she had a good reason.

"She's been fine. She went to nursing school and she mentioned that she'll be moving to Duckburg soon. I'll try to see her again before we can leave this shithole of a city." The last part of her sentence was said with a lot of disgust. Gloria sighed. "I'm sorry I've been so upset. I really don't like being here and I really just want to go home."

"We'll leave soon enough. You don't even have to leave the hotel room the entire time, except for when you want to see Mia. I can bring you food."

Staying in a hotel room without leaving sounds a bit clastrophobic, but with the size of their suite, it definitely was anything but. Ellie hooked them up by bullying Mark into getting Gyro Gearloose a nice room. Ellie actually did it for Gloria, not him, but whatever.
