A few weeks had past, six to be exact, and Mark was still at square one when it came to looking for Ellie. He was back at Duckburg, hoping the cops would be of more assistance than they were in Vegas.

"I'm sorry, sir." The cop said. "But we have tons of missing cases on our hands. Women and children alike. We simply don't have time to add a robot to that list." The cop lowered his voice. "And, to be square with you, losing a robot seems like a personal matter. Not an actual case." He had said the exact same thing to Boyd and Gyro when they had asked for assistance the day after they returned to Duckburg.

Mark laughed and slid the cop a hundred dollar bill. "Alright alright, I hear ya chief... but what about now?" Everyone knew the cops were corrupt. ACAB.

"No."

Officer Cabrera walked out and gave Mark a look. He had tried to bribe different officers the past few days.

"Hombre joven, how many times do you have to tell you to not do that?" She handed Mark the 100 dollar bill back, much to the cop's displeasure. "I know it's hard, querido, but you need to take this matter elsewhere. Have you tried contacting Gizmoduck?"

Why did he not think about contacting Gizmoduck?! "Ohhh yeah! That guy! Okay that was like, a really smart idea! Thanks, cop lady!" Mark through the 100 dollar bill at her before 'pew pew pewing' his way out. Sitting on a bench, he immediately clicked the speed dial for Fenton.

He answered within the first ring. What a nerd. "Hello?"

"Heyyyyyyy! Remember me?! The Beaks man? Listen, bud, I need your help with something big!"

"...how did you get my number?"

"Oh, I have access to everyone's number, but that's not important right now! I need you to become Gizmoduck and help me find my fianceé. She's been missing for weeks and the stupid cops won't help me!"

Fenton's face lit up on the other end. He had been waiting for a call for action for weeks! "Okay, um, sure thing! Let me just-" His heart sunk. This was Mark Beaks he was speaking with. "Wait... why should I believe a- a not nice person like you after everything you did to me? How do I know this isn't another one of your tricks?"

"That is a very good point! Can we do a pinky promise that this isn't a trick?"

"...A pinky promise? You're joking."

Now Mark was starting to get impatient. "Dude! I swear that this isn't a trick! Look, I ran outta options here and I know you can help me with this, so are you in or not?!"

"Okay okay!" Fenton took out his notebook on the other end. "Just give me all the information you can over the phone. I would prefer to not meet up with you in person." What a burn.

"Okay so her name is Ellie and the last time I saw her was in Las Vegas about a few weeks back. No evidence. Nothing left behind. No note. She just disappeared like out of thin air, bro! So I guess-"

"OI!"

Mark sighed. "Look, dude, Imma have to call you back. Kay? Kay. Beaks out." He hung up on Fenton and turned his attention to Glomgold. "How.... I mean, how the hell did you get here?! We left you in Las Vegas!"

"MIND YOUR BUSINESS!" Glomgold shoved Mark back. "WHY DID YOOH LEAVE MEH, BEAKSSSSSSSS! I THOUGHT WE WERE A TEAM AFTER AGARTHA!" After everything, Glomgold still thought they were a team. Idiot.

Mark shoved him back. Rookie mistake. Now his hands were covered in mysterious oil. "Dude! Gross! Oh my god can you just leave me alone?! I'm dealing with some important angst shit right now!"
