Gandra raised her hand.

"Agent Dee." Bradford nodded toward her, giving her permission to speak..

"I saw Kyle vent."

Everyone gasped.

"You know," Black Heron said "He is a little sus." (This was written when Among Us was still very popular.)

"Yes... I've been having my doubts about him myself." Bradford pressed a button on an intercom. "Kyle, please report to the main board room immediately."

Damn. The F.O.W.L. members wished they had some popcorn right about now. Shit was about to go down.

Another minute passed when Kyle, sure enough, crawled out of the air vent to meet up with Bradford. He crawled to his chair and sat down. "You wanted to see me, sir."

Bradford glared at him. "Yes. You have some explaining to do." He spat. "Steelbeak was very proud of you and couldn't help but boast that you wrote an apology letter to your mother. Ellie." He knitted his fingers together, seemingly glaring more intensely by the second. Kyle's very soul was on display. "You have a soft spot for the enemy. You add a lot to our team Kyle, but that is not acceptable. For all we know, you're the impostor among us."

Steelbeak was the only one who didn't vote to confront him. BFFs didn't betray each other.

If Kyle could look pale, he was pale right about now. Hard to tell when you're a cockroach. "Sir... I can explain. I was merely trying to toy with her emotions again. She has been nothing but disrespectful to me and other members. It's nothing but an elaborate scary tactic."

"Really? Then prove it." He snapped his fingers and Ellie stepped forward with Boyd. They had been in the room the entire time and Kyle hadn't even noticed because he's pretty stupid.

Ellie was fidgeting with her skirt. Now was the time when Blot, who wasn't in the room, was supposed to bust in with a distraction and so far there was nothing. He was three minutes late. Now Ellie had to deal with this bullshit while her only chance of escape was about to go down.

Little did Ellie know, Blot was running late because he was looking for his bag of Jolly Ranchers. He really liked those.

"If this all was some elaborate scheme, then do something to her and the kid right now. Shut off their senses, kill them, I don't care. But you have to do something to prove you're on our side or else we're going to have a problem."

Ellie didn't say anything, but she looked at Kyle pleadingly, hoping he really had gone soft. And if he hadn't, then she had to make him think about his decision long enough for Phantom Blot to find his Jolly Ranchers and show up.

Kyle went quiet for a moment, looking back and forth between Bradford and Ellie and Boyd.

"Well, Kyle?" Bradford was growing impatient.

Kyle cleared his throat and got up from his chair. Blot was still nowhere to be found. "You see sir, I was planning on torturing them later and hurting them now will only throw off my whole plan that I've been working on." It was a bad excuse but that's all Kyle had to work with.

"Pft. Figures." Black Heron muttered.

"Yes." Bradford agreed. "It figures you weren't man enough to be a true villain. I should have known." He stood up, approaching Kyle slowly. "I think it's time you leave the company..." Raising his fist, Bradford had decided it was the best course of action to end little Kyle's life, even though Kyle most likely would survive anyway.

Just as he brought his fist down, Kyle curling in on himself, Ellie grabbed onto his arm, stopping him from squishing Kyle by a mere hair. It was kind of a last minute decision for her.
