a soft sigh leaves hyejin's lips as she steps out of her her house, closing the metal gate behind her. she breathes in the fresh air, a small smile tugging across her lips.
it was finally warmer. if she had to choose one season she loved the most, it had to be spring.
it wasn't cold, and it wasn't hot. it was the perfect temperature to go out wearing something light, without having to worry about sweating. the best thing about spring were the cherry blossoms that she would be able to see every time she walked to her bus stop.
the pink coloured flowers complimented the bright baby blue sky beautifully.
when she steps out of the bus, she takes her time to walk to school, basking in the warm sun as her legs trudges up the hill and into her classroom.
she notices daeun already seated in her seat, putting on make up. hyejin grins since she was in a good mood from the good weather.
"daeun-ah!" she exclaims, running to her best friend and sitting down next to her. hyejin rests her elbow against her desk, turning to stare at her best friend whilst she did her make up.
daeun who was weirded out by her friends' actions, turn to look at hyejin. "what... what are you doing? are you okay? are you sick?"
"how could i be sick when the weather is beautiful?"
daeun rolls her eyes, "i keep forgetting that you hate winter."
"you know," sighs hyejin, "if i wasn't in such a good mood right now, i would be mad that you don't know me as well as i know you."
"you think you know me more than i know you?" quirks daeun as she pats her skin with the cushion foundation.
"of course i do," hyejin replies, "don't believe me? ask me anything."
"okay, let's start simple. what's my favourite colour?"
"easy," hyejin shrugs, "blue."
"favourite movie?"
"anything with Ji Changwook in it."
"favourite food?"
"kimchi fried rice because your grandmother used to make it for you all the time when you were younger," scoffs hyejin, her back leaning against the wall as she turns to smirk at her best friend.
"okay..." daeun trails off, "favourite subject?"
this one was a little tricky, since daeun had failed nothing in her life. but after being her seatmate for years now, she knew daeun like the back of her hand.
"math, because you're a fucking weirdo," answers hyejin.
"okay, yeah, you know me more than i know you," daeun finally agrees, nodding. daeun closes the cap of her mascara and pack all of her make up in her bag. "how do you even know my favourite subject?" she shakes her head.
"okay, so you know how you have never failed a subject?" hyejin asks and daeun nods. "you failed math this one time, and you became super, like, competitive, and then when you actually understood math, you couldn't stop doing it."
daeun stares as if she was asking 'are you serious?'. but that made sense, hyejin always had the expertise of observing other people.
"have you done the homework?"
"for?"
daeun pauses, scrutinising her friend, wondering if hyejin was just joking. "there's only one homework, lee..." she trails off, "physics."
