hyejin could hear the sound of her alarm blaring next to her ear. she lets out a tired groan picking up her phone with one eye open.

8AM.

she groans even louder, squirming on her warm bed at the thought of meeting jaehyun this early. she lays down for a while, collecting the energy to push herself off the bed. she finally gathers the strength and steps out bed.

she heads to the bathroom to take another shower since she had sweat through her sleep from the heat. after brushing her teeth, she changed into a pair of jeans, a black tank top, layered with a thin white button up.

it was the perfect weather today. it wasn't warm, nor was it cold. she was able to layer without worrying of sweating.

after putting on her make up, she left her room with a small bag over her shoulders.

her mother spots hyejin leaving her room.

"am i seeing this right? is that my daughter leaving her room before 12PM?" her mother jokes, pretending to rub her eye to see clearly.

her whole family were already doing chores early in the morning on a weekend. her mother was making nuggets for her younger brother, and her father was sitting on the couch with newspaper in hand.

hyejin rolls her eyes, "i'm going out to work on a project."

"with who?"

since when did that matter? or did her mother thought she was going on a date?

"jeong," hyejin answers, stealing a piece of nugget from her little brother's plate, gaining a whine from the younger boy.

"jaehyun?" her mother asks, "the one just a few doors away? you're going out with him?" there was an annoying smile on her mother's face, as if she was expecting something.

hyejin lets out a heavy sigh, "yes ma, for a project," she reminds. "and i'm now very late to meet him, and he's going to get mad. i'll see you later."

her parents hum.

"oh, and hyejin. meet us at the hospital once you're done. your father needs to do his monthly check up," her mother voices out.

hyejin's eyes dart to his father who seemed unbothered by the mention of his name. she sighs again, but this time out of pity. she shakes her head, slipping her feet into a pair of converse before she trudges out of her home.

when she arrived at the library, she was already 8 minutes late, which was lesser than she had expected. hyejin trudges into the library, her eyes scrutinising the very filled room.

it was 9AM on a saturday, so why was it so packed?

she spots the fluffy black haired boy seated. she walks over to him, putting her bag down on the table, scaring jaehyun.

he looks up at her, "you're early," he says sarcastically.

"hey, be thankful that i'm even here."

jaehyun had scattered a few pieces of lined paper on the table, his laptop opened and running with the presentation document planted on the screen.

hyejin sits down, eyeing the things scattered on the table.

"i got you..." he trails off.

the girl looks up to see jaehyun sliding an iced americano towards her.

a teasing grin forms on hyejin's face, "what is this? you got me coffee?"

jaehyun scratches the back of his head, suddenly feeling squeamish, "i felt kind of bad having you wake up early in the morning. so, i got you something small."
