when hyejin walked past the blue metal gates of school, she notices the different booths set up by the other students. there were red roses, chocolates and other small gifts.

'happy valentine's day' was spread out on the banner on each booths.

hyejin clicks the home button of her phone, checking the date. right, today was friday and valentine's day would be tomorrow, on the 14th. she assumed that they were having the booths today because tomorrow would be a weekend and nobody would be coming to school.

when she headed to class, she noticed how busy it was. she also noticed a few red roses and chocolates on a few of her classmate's desk.

she ambles to her desk. daeun's desk was empty, to which she assumes that daeun hasn't arrive yet.

she was on her phone when she suddenly heard someone calling for her name. she turns to the back door of the classroom to see jungwoo grinning at her. she smiles back, gesturing for jungwoo to enter and sit next to her.

"look what i got~" he trails off, placing the different brand chocolates on daeun's side of the table.

hyejin gasps, recognising a few of the expensive brand chocolate. "what, how did you get so much?"

jungwoo shrugs, leaning back against the seat cockily, "i'm just hot and sexy."

hyejin rolls her eyes, "you definitely are not, and are you going to eat all of this?" she gestures to the chocolates.

"i'm sharing it with you," he replies, "and daeun, when she comes."

a grin broke onto hyejin's face, "really?" her hand is already reaching for the kisses chocolates, her favourite.

jungwoo reaches for the hersheys chocolate, ripping the packaging open before breaking a piece and placing the sweet chocolate in his mouth. his eyes lands on jaehyun's table.

"yo, look at jaehyun's," jungwoo says, pointing at his desk with widened eyes.

hyejin looks his way, watching as jaehyun stares at his desk that was filled with chocolates and a few roses. jaehyun lets out a sigh and gathers everything on his desk and dumps it into a big bag that was left next to his desk.

jaehyun then sits down on his table as if nothing had happened.

"what's up with him?" asks hyejin.

jungwoo sighs, "i don't know either," he shrugs, "he never seem phased by all the letters and chocolates he gets during valentine's day."

"weird."

"i know," nods jungwoo, "but you know tomorrow is his birthday, right?" he asks, turning to face hyejin.

how could she forget? they were friends for years, she knew him like the back of her hand. well, that was 8 years ago, she barely know what his dislikes and likes are now.

"and you know i hate him right?" she snaps in reply, taking another chocolate from jungwoo.

"how long are you guys going to hate each other?" remarks jungwoo, "you two were attached to the hip."

she wasn't affected by the last time they were friends, because it happened a long time ago. they were young and immature, and maybe it was for the better; their friendship ending.

"it doesn't matter," hyejin shakes her head, "it happened a long time ago, and i am more than happy we stopped being friends," hyejin expresses with a frown. she shakes her head, "i don't care about him, let's stop talking about it."
