there were pros and cons to summer, and as much as hyejin would love to make another pro and con list right now, she just has no time. she snatches her bag from the floor, swinging it over her shoulder, leaving her room.
she rushes to the kitchen, grabbing a piece of sandwich that her mother had made and putting it between her teeth, then she quickly rushes to put on her shoes.
"good luck for your exam!" her mother calls out and hyejin only hums in replies before she rushes out of her home to the bus stop.
the bus stop was only a few minutes away from her house, but she was already sweating buckets. luckily for her, the bus arrived the moment she reached the bus stop.
the bus was full when she entered, so she had no choice but to stand amongst the rest of the people getting to work, or school. she spots the familiar boy seated the same place last week, and her eyebrows furrow.
their eyes met, but hyejin quickly looks away, still upset with the interaction she had with jaehyun last week.
the past week hyejin did nothing but studied her ass off. even though she was upset with jaehyun, she had to admit that he was right. she didn't have time for both— studying and dancing. she had given up dancing for the week and opted on focusing in school.
since she was currently not on speaking terms with jaehyun, she would self study at home, and when she didn't know a question, she would snap a picture of the question and send it to daeun. or she would just google for an answer.
thanks to the various teachers on youtube, that teaches way better than the teachers in school.
when hyejin stepped out of the bus, she was instantly met with the heat from the scorching sun. she grumbles lowly, gathering her hair into a ponytail as she ties it with the black hair tie that she had.
"god it's so hot," she moans when she finally reaches her desk. hyejin plants both strawberry milk on her desk, poking a straw through one and quickly sipping on it.
as much as she hated winter, summer might just be the worse. the only reason why summer was a little tolerable was the summer break, and that the fact summer only lasts a couple months, and the cold lasts way too long in her opinion.
"are you ready for the exam later?" the voice scared hyejin, turning to see daeun towering over her.
"do you ever make a sound when you walk?" she complains, poking the used straw through the second carton of strawberry milk, "i don't know. i don't want to jinx it, i just hope it's an easy paper."
daeun shrugs off her bag and takes a seat, "i noticed that you were studying a lot more. i'm sure you'll do fine, just don't overthink it."
hyejin could only let out a sigh.
nervousness would be an understatement. she was agitated at most, slightly on the edge of this whole exam. of course, this exam doesn't conclude her acceptance in 1Million, but it does show how well she was going to do.
she guessed that there were two goods in this; getting into 1M, and tricking her parents into thinking that she was going to do well in school. if her grades had went up, that is.
...
hyejin tugs the books under her armpit as she steps out of the classroom, heading to the school library. she had exactly an hour to spare before her next exam starts, so she decides to do some last minute studying before that.she's not sure if last minute studying is useful since daeun thinks the opposite, but she would do whatever it takes to do well for her exams.
the library was full, just like she expected, although she does spot a few empty seats here and there, but most of them had books laid out on the table— as if saying they didn't want anyone else sitting next to them.
