Ch. 17 Double Vision
Pt. 3 Something Goes Well
I groaned as I forced myself up to face Dark Todd. ”You think you’ve won. You used me to try to turn my friends against me. You made my words hurt Nelly. You used my body to destroy us. You can’t win cause you don’t have something we all do.”
”Friendship. Trust. Forgiveness. We have all that. I know I seem to just be wasting my breath, but I do it because I don’t need to worry. You haven’t won. You know what you did, though? You just made me pretty angry.”
I felt power surge as I stood fully. I felt the pain from the growing spikes cease. I saw large claws sprout from my original small ones. I felt taller, and more anger made me even more anxious to kick this little guy’s butt.
”And you don’t like me if I get angry.” I finished.

Adrian stared in hidden awe as Todd changed. He held up his pokedex to Todd, which beeped and replied:
Sandslash. Ground type. Mouse pokemon. It’s developed claws have immense slicing power. It can roll when curled to attack or move quickly.
”What happened?” Nelly wondered aloud.
”Todd…” Adrian gulped, ”Has evolved.”

So naturally I was feeling pretty awesome, and quickly commenced with the butt kicking. I rushed forward, slicing quickly. Dark Todd attempted to counter, but was thrown aside. He sprawled out on the ground, and I rushed up and delivered a sweeping ground kick. He groaned, and tried to throw a punch. I held up a single claw and stopped it effortlessly. I leaped into the air, and began coming down like a missile.
”Magnitude!” The force sent him up into the air, and I followed him up with a quick combo of ”Fury Cutter.” He collapsed, and didn’t move. I nudged him.
”We’re good. He’s down. I was greeted by a barrage of hugs, (not from Adrian of course,) and we laughed together as we talked about how bad he lost.

The children had already left, and I saw the men cart Dark Todd to the testing area. He was placed in the chamber as he began to awake.
”What…happened? What is…” He groaned. The DNA research director spoke.
”You have failed our purposes. We have no reason for you. We must destroy your structure.”
”WHAT!? But, you can’t do this to me! No! Wait! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!”
His screams faded into dust. The scene would haunt me. Until the day I learned the truth.
