Ch. 6 It Takes One to Know One (Or Slice Them to Shreds)

Doc proceeded to introduce the rest. The older kid was Adrian apparently, the older one of the girls was Harper, and the little girl was Nelly.

”So what are these creatures?” Adrian asked, speaking for the first time. This shocked me, because I was beginning to wonder if the kid even had a voice.

Doc replied ”Well, I’ve determined that they are called, ’Pokemon’. They have many interesting body functions. Follow me.” She took us down to the lower basement again, and called to me. ”Stand there.”

I did, and she continued. ”As I was saying, Pokemon have incredible skills to react, attack, defend, and repair, and they are all on instinct. Like so.” She pressed a key on a computer keyboard.

Suddenly, I heard air burst, and I turned to see a large punching bag flying towards me. I was thinking, WHAT THE HECK IS DOC DOING!?!? and closed my eyes for impact, but then I suddenly felt a strange part in the back of my mind take up the front. I lifted a hand, and exclaiming, ”Scratch!” I brought my hand down quickly. I waited a second, then opened an eye. The punching bag wasn’t in front of me. Where was it?

I turned to see that the bag was in 2 pieces on the wall behind me. There were tons of filling spilled across the floor, and I saw that in front of me were shreds of the punching bag. I realized what had happened. I had sliced the bag at the exact place and time to cause it to not touch me. It was pure instinct.

”…Whoa.” Harper gasped.

”That…was…EXHILARATING! LET’S DO IT AGAIN!!!” I grinned.

”It’s just an example of how incredible Pokemon instincts are. But, there’s a problem.” Doc sighed. ”You all are steadily progressing in the change. If we don’t do something soon it will be permanent. I think I have a way to fix something though.”

She started quickly typing, and the pod I had used earlier opened. ”Step in, Todd.” I did, and she closed the door. It filled with fog. I felt a cramp in a lot of places, but then it eased. The door opened. I stepped out. I looked around. The others filled with shock when they saw me.

”What?” I asked ”Did I get more awesome?”

”Todd, you’re…you’re…” Harper began.

”Normal.” Nelly finished, her mouth gaping.

”I’m…what?” I looked myself over. I was normal! I was the plain old me! No tail! Nothing! Just me!

The others quickly did it as well. They came out like their normal selves. I turned to Doc.

”So, that’s it? We’re done?”

”Well, no. All of you try thinking about your Pokemon part. Concentrate hard on it.”

So I did, I felt a little tingle, but then everything stopped. I looked. I gasped. I was Pokemon again! In fact, I was completely Pokemon!  Then I noticed another thing.

”GAAAAH! WHERE ARE MY CLOTHES!?!?” I screamed, covering what I could.

”RELAX, TODD! It’s a part of it, but don’t worry. Pokemon have nothing to hide.”

”YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW WRONG THAT SOUNDS!” I yelled.

”Listen, Todd. All of you. There’s a problem. I want you to see what you can do to help me.” Doc sighed.
