Ch. 35 Hi, I'm Pleading for My Life

Hi everybody. In case you weren't here before, I was plummeting to my death.

I took a deep breath, then failed because I was falling at high altitudes. I wondered if Red was having a better time than me.

-Meanwhile-

Red grinned at the flight attendants as he continued, "So then I said to him, 'Really? That's the best you got? Learn a little.'" He and the attendants laughed. A male flight attendant walked up to him.

"Sir, you're going to need to sit down. We're taking off."

"I got you." He replied, and began to head to his seat. He turned around and added, "I'll see you soon, ladies."

-Back to Todd-

Nah. I'm sure his journey's pretty boring.

I began to spin, facing the ground. I spun faster until everything was a blur of color and sky. I braced myself for impact as the ground came closer.

Imagine getting hit by a dump truck. I imagine what I felt compares pretty well to that. I felt pain searing through my entire body as any scenery was replaced with dirt. I had to close my eyes before I got them washed out with dirt.

I tilted my body until I felt I was probably going reasonably straight. Then I waited.

For quite some time I kept going, continuously drilling at high speed. I could tell I was starting to slow down, but not much. I continued for several more minutes until I reached a speed slow enough to allow me to stop. I took a breath, (struggling, because I was underground). I felt where gravity wanted to take me. I then proceeded to dig up from that direction. It took a little longer than I expected, but I poked my  head out into sunshine eventually. It was pretty nice.

I saw a sign pointing to a tourist office. It was a risk, but I went ahead into the office.

After getting some info, I headed out to the location. "An old ship's remains, huh? A little weird, but you gotta go where you gotta go."

I thus began the treacherous journey on foot. "It's gonna be a long day, isn't it?"

-Much Later-

I gasped desperately as I laid eyes on the prize. I was almost there. After about four hours, I had finally made it to the ship. I sighed. "Come on, man. You can do this. It's like, only about 200 feet. Maybe 300...which is about a football field." I took a deep breath, "I really need a treadmill."

When I finally arrived, I just collapsed on the ground. After a minute, I heard shuffling, and a voice called out, "Well, looks like you did beat me here. We going in?"

I saw Red's face peek into my view. He looked just fine. Lucky him. "Yeah, yeah, just...just give me a second. Whew..."

After I finally got energy back, we entered the rubble. It was actually pretty big, and there were a few places we could go. "So, you go right I go left?" I offered.

"Sounds reasonable."

So we split up. I began heading down the row of rooms, checking out whatever. After I hadn't found anything for a while, I wondered, "Maybe we got here before them."

A loud rumble and shaking beneath my feet silenced me. "Yup, that figures."

I ran out to the middle of the ship to find Red entering soon after. "You said something, didn't you?" He asked.

"How on Earth would you know?"

"Call it a hunch." He grinned. Another loud rumble shook the ship. We nodded at each other.

We rushed down the middle of the decrepit hull. We soon arrived at a room where Lucario stood with a strange orb in his hand. He placed it on a broken piece sticking up. It sat there, and it was violently shaking and glowing. Suddenly, it seemed to burst as a strange void opened, revealing a large expanse. It was strange, and I couldn't really see much except a little bit of salmon-colored land. I looked at Red. He nodded. As Lucario entered with several men, we slipped quietly in behind. We continued to follow them until they reached another strange void. Lucario held up the orb again. I guess he had recovered it. The orb suddenly flew in, and the void began to pulse.

The void began to squirm, then it spread and shaped. It became several feet tall, and it formed into a strange dragon-like shape. Two bright red eyes appeared in the head area. It began to fill with color. Blackish-gray filling it's wings, with red claws forming on the wings. It had a yellow rib cage-like shape around its chest, and the same yellow formed a horned helmet of sorts around the eyes. On its side were large spikes, the base of which were gray, but became yellow towards the tip. Red, black and gray stripes decorated its main body, and it began to float into the air.

We would have continued to watch, but because of my life being as unfortunate as it is, my pokedex began to beep. In my defense, I was still a little busy being amazed by all the awesome when Doc probably explained how to turn off the alert for stealth.

Lucario immediately whipped around and fired an Aura Sphere in our direction. We hit the ground as the rock we sat behind was destroyed. Lucario didn't say a word, but simply fired another. I sliced it down the middle, but to my surprise, the energy continued to swirl around my claws. I looked at them and grinned. Lucario seemed surprised. Perfect. I lunged forward, taking a swing. He blocked with his paws, but when his spikes and my claws collided, a bright burst of energy launched us both backwards. I spun and used my claws to slow myself down. Lucario was flung off of the ground. I ran over to the edge and saw him land on ground far below. He didn't get up, but I could tell he was alive. I turned to see Red finishing with the guards. He pulled out a Poke ball and held it up.

"Charizard, retu-" He looked to the fully formed creature before us. "You know on second thought, stay out."

We stared at it. It didn't seem to notice us. I whispered to Red. "So what do we do?"

"I don't know, check your Pokedex."

I pulled out the device. It flashed and began listing information.

Giratina. Ghost and Dragon Type. No other information available.

"Awesome." Red muttered. "Now what?"

"I got an idea." I replied. I stepped forward and cleared my throat. "Uh, hey, uh, Giratina? Big guy?"

Giratina slowly shifted to look down at me. "Yeah, hey, big guy! Uh, hi. Listen, we could really use a hand, and uh..."

It began to move more, shifting so its head was down at my level. I slowly moved back. My foot nudged against the orb. I reached over and picked it up. I held it in front of me and closed my eyes in hope.

"Uh, please don't hurt us?"

-To be continued-

Doc sat in her chair, looking at her computer. A knock sounded at her door. She stood and went up to the door. She opened it to see Taylor and Joey.

"Oh, hi Taylor. Is there something I can do for you?" She asked.

"I need you to check out my brother." Taylor replied with determination.

"Uh, why do you think I could do that?" Doc questioned.

"Because I know Todd and the others stay here. You helped them, so I need you to help Joey."
