"Victor is outside…" I said.
"So what?" Ian said.
"I have to get back to him…" I replied.
"No, you don't." Ian said.
"Liz…
Liz, where are you?" Victor called me from outside.
And before I could respond Ian held me tight.
"Don't answer him." Ian said.
"But…" I said.
"Don't do it." Ian replied.
Ian was so close to me. His body touched mine. His lips were touching mine, but we were not kissing, just feeling the sensetion. He grabbed my hips close to his. Touching my face with his cold soft fingertips. And there it was again, that struggle in his eyes.
"Ian, What's wrong?" I asked him.
He didn't answer. But I could feel his hand tugging even harder.
"Liz, I can…" He said.
Suddenly Victor came inside the room and turned on the light.
"Victor!?" I said.
"I called for you. Why didn't you answer?" Victor asked me.
Although he was talking to me, Victor's eyes never left Ian's.
"I didn't hear you." I replied.
"Ah. What were you doing in here?" Victor asked.
"We talked." Ian said.
"I didn't ask you." Victor said angrily to Ian.
"But I answered." Ian said.
"Come with me, Liz." Victor said.
Victor's voice had a sound I've never heard before. To be honest it scared me…
"Liz!" Victor said.
"Yes." I replied.
School was over and Victor and I were driving home. It was pretty awkward. We hadn't talked about what happened back with Ian. And to be honest I didn't even want to.
"Why did you lie?" Victor asked me.
"What?" I said.
"Why did you lie to me, Liz?
You said you and he weren't close." Victor asked me.
"We are not close…" I replied.
"Sure." Victor said.
"We are really not that close!" I said.
"That's what I saw." Victor said.
"It's difficult okay!
But I didn't lie! I don't even know myself what this is!" I replied.
"Calm down,Liz! I'm sorry okay. I believe you. I just want us to be open to each other. You can confide in me. Even if it's about boys." Victor said.
"I will… But I can't when I've no idea myself what's going on." I said.
"I understand." Victor said.
After everything I needed a relaxing shower. I was mad and confused. On the one side I felt bad for staying quite and not answering Victor. On the other side… I'd probably do it again… Ian had this power over me where I couldn't think straight or think at all. I don't understand myself any longer. I was in love with Victor. I've always been. There have never been any doubt about this. But now I was still in love with him. But my growing feelings for Ian put everything into a new perspective.
I felt safe loving Victor. I knew he didn't love me back, which may sound ridiculous, but it made me more calm. Of course, it was upsetting in a certain way, but it also came with no surprise. Which was good. My feelings for Ian were completely different. He had such an unpredictable nature. Everything with him came with surprises. He wasn't in love with me and hell I wasn't in love with him. But I learned so many new emotions through him. Emotions I didn't even know existed. I wasn't sure how to feel or act to both of them. My life changed. And I had to learn to adjust.
After I came out of shower, I heard Victor argument with someone in some serious matter. When Victor saw me he hung up the call.
"I didn't know you already finished…" Victor said to me.
"I just came out of the shower." I replied.
"Great then I'll go." Victor said.
"Who was that on the phone?" I asked him.
"Huh? Just a friend of mine." Victor replied and went for shower.
While Victor was in shower, his phone call came again. When I saw it, name P.V. was on it.
"Who save their friend's name P.V.!?" I thought.
After dinner we slept together. When I woke up I didn't see Victor in bed. After a few seconds he came.
"Morning, sleepyhead." Victor said.
"Hey…
You're up early…" I said.
"I've been jogging." Victor said.
"Are you serious?" I asked.
"The weather is great, I need to make use of that." Victor answered.
"You work out before school?" I said.
"Of course!" Victor replied.
"What happened to my childhood friend? Give him back!" I said.
"I've always been like this. You just never noticed because you only slept over on weekends and you know how long you sleep then." Victor said.
"Do you do this everyday?" I asked surprisingly.
"Yep." Victor replied.
"Isn't that a little too much?" I said.
"Why? Doesn't hurt to stay in shape." Victor said.
Then Victor opened his shirt, I got nervous.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Taking my shirt off." Victor replied.
"But why?" I asked.
"I think you should take a shower after you work out." Victor answered.
"Oh…" I said.
Victor put his shirt on the floor and went to the bathroom. I noticed something on his shirt. I took his shirt to see it.
"What is that…?" I was thinking. It looked like blood spots.
That's when Victor came out of shower.
"You liked my shirt?" Victor asked me.
"NO!" I said.
"I'm just kidding, Liz." Victor replied.
"You're already done?" I asked.
"No, I forgot my towel. Okay now you can continue admiring my clothes." Victor said. Victor took his towel and went to the bathroom.
"I DIDN'T DO THAT!" I replied.
We went to school. After some lessons were over we came out of the class.
"I kinda regret coming with you…" Victor said.
"I told you." I said.
"The teachers are so depressing." Victor said.
"Where not?" I replied.
"True. But the girls are way more attractive than in my school." Victor said.
"Good for you." I replied.
"Don't be sad. You're not too bad yourself." Victor said.
"Didn't you say I was drop dead gorgeous?" I replied.
"I did … but now all I see are those beautiful cheerleaders…" Victor said.
I rolled my eyes and stared at him.
"I'm just kidding.
You are still the most beautiful one." Victor said.
"Yeah yeah." I replied.
Then we went outside and Victor and I were just talking. That's when a group of boys came to me.
"Hey Varon." One of those boys called me.
"Who are they?" Victor asked me.
"I don't know them." I replied to Victor.
"You're Liz Varon, right?" Those boys asked me.
"I'm , why?" I asked.
"I want to make sure we got the right one." Their leader said.
"For what?" I said.
"Listen. Don't you wanna leave this school?" They threatened me.
"What!?" I asked.
"You. Leaving. This School. Understood? Nobody really wants you here anyways." Those boys said.
"Excuse me? What's your problem?" I asked them.
"You're the problem, baby. If you don't wanna get hurt you should consider leaving, okay?" Those boys said.
"Maybe you should consider leaving if you don't wanna get hurt? Okay?" Victor told those boys, defending me.
"Bro just stay out of this." Those boys' leaders said.
"Nah bro. I like being involved." Victor replied.
"Seriously, fuck off?" Those boys tried to scare Victor.
"Nope." Victor said.
"I warned you." Their leader said.
Then those boys attacked Victor but Victor knocked all of them in just one shot. And then those boys got scared and left.
"Victor, are you okay?" I asked him.
"I'm fine." Victor replied.
"You can't be serious…" I got worried.
"Liz, I'm fine. Really." Victor said.
Victor had only needed one punch to bring star athletes down… I was wondering since when he was so strong. That's when Maeve saw everything and came to us.
"Wow.
That was good. I didn't know you were so strong, Mr. Childhood friend." Maeve said.
"You never asked me, Mrs. Best friend." Victor replied.
"Where did you learn to fight?" Maeve asked Victor.
"I guess being an aggressive person helps a lot. No, seriously what's their problem? Did you have any fight with them?" Victor asked.
"No, this was the first time I even talked to them." I replied.
"I might know what the cause of this is." Maeve said.
"Enlighten us!" I said.
"Samantha Cross." Maeve answered.
"Are you serious? But how?" I replied.
"I heard some rumors that Samantha promised the football team to let them have their way with her if they do as she says." Maeve explained.
"That's disgusting.
I never thought she would get this far." I said.
"I told you don't underestimate them." Maeve said.
"Who's Samantha?" Victor asked.
"A bitch who hates me." I replied.
"And why?" Victor asked.
"Girls don't need a reason to hate on other girls. But there's actually a reason this time. She's obsessed with Ian. So, anyone who talks to him, is on her list." I explained.
"Or if you try to beat her up." Maeve said.
"Oh, okay. C'mon, let's go." Victor said.
Then we went inside. Ian was watching all this fighting scene and thought Victor was very strong.
