It was the weekend again and I decided to go for a walk. Put my mind on other things. I still had so much to see in this town. I saw Maeve and Tristan on my way. They were fighting and arguing about something, which was kinda cute.
"Hey you two." I greeted them.
"Oh, Hi Liz." Maeve said.
"Hi." Tristan said.
"What were you fighting about?" I asked them.
"We weren't…" Tristan said.
"That jerk accidentally put my favourite choker in the washing machine." Maeve replied.
"Why the hell would I do that on purpose!?" Tristan said.
"Maybe because I destroyed your speakers!" Maeve replied to Tristan.
"You what?" Tristan asked Maeve.
"Oh.
You didn't know…?" Maeve said.
"Are you serious!?" Tristan said.
"No…" Maeve replied.
"You're dead." Tristan said to Maeve.
"It was an accident. I was in rage because Liz wasn't replying to my texts. And your speakers were just there… I had to throw them somewhere. It's basically your fault." Maeve explained.
They both stared at each other.
"Who wants to go for a coffee?" I asked them to stop their fight.
We went for a coffee. They were still staring at each other with those death stares.
"Uhmm… so…
What have you been doing here?" I asked them.
"Just some grocery shopping. Tris has the appetite of a bear." Maeve replied.
"Are you talking about yourself?" Tristan asked Maeve.
"What were you upto, Liz?" Tristan asked me.
"I just wanted to take a walk.
I feel like I've never really seen anything since I moved here." I replied.
"Trust me there's not much to see. Why did you even move? This is the most boring place to live." Maeve said.
"It's not that bad." Tristan said.
"Funny." Maeve replied.
"I like it here." I said.
Besides being surrounded by bloodthirsty monsters, it was better than the last place I've been.
"I wouldn't have met you, if I hadn't moved here." I said.
"True.
Now I understand why you like it. I'll go to the bathroom real quick." Maeve said and went to the bathroom.
"I'm sorry that we were fighting. Must have been exhausting." Tristan said.
"It's okay. To be honest it's kinda funny." I replied.
"Not for me.
Maeve can be a real pain in the ass." Tristan said.
"But you love her." I said.
"I do. So annoying.
You're better now?" Tristan asked me.
"Hm?" I said.
"The last time we saw each other you were a little down." Tristan said.
"Oh… yes.
I do feel better." I replied.
"That's good to hear.
You look beautiful with that smile on your face." Tristan said. That made me blush I guess.
Not only Tristan was really attractive but he also had this protective big brother aura surrounding him. Which was Charming. Luckily Maeve arrived before I could say anything embarrassing.
"The toilet is disgusting. Someone must have taken a big shit before me." Maeve said and we all laughed.
Time flew by and it was already dark outside. We decided to go home.
"Are you sure?" Tristan asked me.
"It's really not a problem." Maeve said.
"No really, it's okay. But thank you." I said.
"I would feel better if you'd drive with us. It's already pretty dark." Tristan insisted.
"Thank You but I need the fresh air. I'll be fine." I said.
"Text me when you're home." Maeve said.
"Will do." I replied.
Then I left. I was walking home. When I came by a playground, a boy caught my eye. He was sitting on the bench all alone. His eyes looked so incredibly sad. He looked like he was about to cry. When I looked more closely, I noticed that he had very beautiful face features. His hair was so light it almost looked white. And his eyes had the colour of a dark wild ocean, it's glowing grey. He had cute little freckles on his cheeks. How could somebody this beautiful be that sad. I was so shallow. I decided to talk to him. I couldn't just walk by. I went near him.
"Uhm hey…
Are you okay?" I asked that boy.
His head went up and he looked at me. Surprised, confused.
"I'm sorry, I didn't wanna bother you. I just thought of you… I don't know, I'm sorry." I apologized.
Before I could walk away, a light, melodic voice stopped me.
"Please stay.
I'm sorry, I just don't feel that great." That boy said.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked.
"Do you really care?
I'm just a stranger." That boy asked me.
"That doesn't mean I can't care about you." I replied.
"Everybody else wouldn't." That boy said.
"Well I do." I replied.
"My heart…
It got broken. There was this girl. She and I were together. I thought we were in love. Turns out only I was." That boy said with that super sad voice.
"She dumped you?" I asked.
"More or less." That boy answered.
"That's harsh. I'm sorry." I said.
"Maybe I don't deserve to be loved." That boy said.
"Why are you saying this?" I asked.
"Maybe god doesn't want me to be happy." He replied.
He looked up at the sky, his eyes dizzy. And so hurt.
"Look.
I know we have just met.
But I believe that everybody deserves to be happy. You included. If something like God exists, then he wouldn't want you to be that hurt. That girl was stupid by not loving you back. She doesn't deserve someone like you. And maybe it's good that she left you. Now you'll find someone better. Someone who loves you as much as you loved her." I said to that boy.
"Who are you?" That boy asked me.
"I'm Liz." I introduced myself.
"I should've met you earlier Liz. You're sweet." That boy said.
"Do you feel better?" I asked him.
"I do. Thank you…" He replied.
"Of course." I said.
It was when a text from Maeve came. Shit I didn't even realise how much time had passed.
"You need to go?" That boy said.
"I do… sorry." I replied.
"Don't apologise, you helped me a lot." He said.
"Uhm well goodbye." I said.
"Elijah." He introduced himself.
"Elijah." I said.
"Bye Liz." Elijah said.
Then I went home. Later that day I was thinking about that boy. That was strange… but I was happy I could help him. I was so tired, so I fell asleep.
