And I knew that he knew I was lying.
"I'm fine.
Nothing to worry about." I said and reassured.
"I still wanna hear about it." Elijah said.
His voice was unusually serious. It was weird seeing him like that. Elijah was always playing around. But all that playfulness was wiped away and he looked like he was seriously interested in my wellbeing.
"Ehm… I…" I said.
"Is it about that blonde chick who made out with Ian?" Elijah asked.
But I kept silent.
"So, it's about that.
Liz, are you into him?" Elijah asked me.
"What!? No!
I mean… No." I replied.
"Don't gift your heart to someone like him. He isn't worthy of it." Elijah said.
"And you are?" I said.
"Absolutely." Elijah replied.
And we both laughed.
"Thank You, Elijah." I thanked him.
"Don't thank me for stating the obvious." Elijah said.
"You can't just break into my house all the time!" I said.
"We don't need to destroy the mood now, don't we Liz?
What do you think about going swimming?" Elijah asked.
"Huh?" I said.
"Swimming. You and me!" Elijah said.
"Now?" I said.
"Of course!" Elijah replied.
"Are you crazy?" I said.
"We already had this talk. Didn't we?" Elijah said.
"Elijah it's almost midnight!" I said."
"Even better.
Have you ever been swimming at night?" Elijah asked with excitement.
"No…" I answered.
"LIZ!?!
What have you been doing all your life?!" Elijah said.
"Okay now you're being dramatic." I replied.
"C'mon!" Elijah insisted.
"Elijah even if I were to agree, my mom would NEVER." I said.
"Don't worry. I already manipulated her." Elijah said.
"ELIJAH!
Stop manipulating my mom for God sake!" I replied.
"But you have to admit that it comes in handy right now. C'mon change in your swimwear." Elijah said.
"If you seriously think I'll change while you're sitting there, then you thought wrong." I replied.
"I won't look, I promise!" Elijah said.
"This is probably the least trustworthy thing I've ever heard. And it won't help your case if you keep smirking while saying that. So…. LEAVE…" I said.
"Okay okay…" Elijah said and left.
I changed and we went to the beach.

It was crazy. The weather was surprisingly pretty comfortable. And wow… When you think the ocean looks beautiful by day… At night it looked almost magical. Elijah was so carefree when he dived into the ocean. He was so happy. His skin glittered when he came back. Little water drops were sliding off his back. My breath hitched when he turned around. His eyes shimmered with joy and his platinum hair looked almost white with the moon shining on it. I never noticed how muscular he was before. He always acted like a little child but boy… he certainly didn't look like one. His beautiful face features combined with his trained body make him look so unreal.
"Are you coming?" Elijah said.
And I went inside the water. It was so much more fun than I thought it would be. It was only the two of us, nobody else was outside at this hour. We swam, laughed and forgot. Forgot about things I didn't wanna think about. And I knew that had been Elijah's intention all along. I was thankful to him. And then we came out of the water.
"It was fun." I said to Elijah.
"I told you." Elijah replied.
"Thank you." I thanked him.
"No, thank you." Elijah said.
"What for?" I asked.
"For letting me see you in a bikini…
You're cold?" Elijah asked me.
"A little." I answered.
"Man, I wish I could warm you up but…" Elijah said.
When Elijah touched me, I could feel that he was way colder than I was.
"One of the few downsides of being basically dead." Elijah said.
"Are you freezing?" I asked Elijah.
"Not at all. It's my natural body temperature. I never feel cold." Elijah answered.
How did I never notice Ian being cold? It always felt so hot when I was with him.
"What are you thinking about?" Elijah asked me.
"Nothing.
I better put on my dress." I replied.
"Wait." Elijah said.
"What?" I asked.
"Okay." Elijah said.
"What did you do?" I asked Elijah.
"I burned your semi naked body into my brain." Elijah replied.
I stared at him.
"What?
You're always so moody, I don't know when the next time is gonna be where I see you like this." Elijah said.
"Never." I replied.
"You see what I mean?" Elijah said.
"What was that?" I asked.
"Probably just some bug.
Don't worry about it." Elijah said.
Then I went home and slept.

I was sleeping but suddenly a voice tried to wake me up.
"Liz…
Liz, wake up.
Hey…" someone tried to wake me up.
"Hmmm?" I said.
"Liz. Wake up…" someone tried to wake me up again.
When I woke up and opened my eyes I saw it was Elijah, sleeping next to me and trying to wake me up.
"Elijah!?" I said.
"Shushhh!
Your mom is sleeping." Elijah said.
"What are you doing here!?" I asked him.
"I didn't want that night to just end like that." Elijah said.
"LEAVE!" I replied.
"You're so cruel, Liz.
It's not that easy, you know." Elijah said.
"Yeah, it is. LEAVE MY BED!!" I said.
"I don't wanna.
Let's do something." Elijah replied.
"Whatcha got in mind huh?" I asked.
"Hmm…
I mean they're a lot of options." Elijah replied.
"That wasn't a serious question, YOU IDIOT!" I said.
"Then why don't we get serious." Elijah said.
That's when I heard another voice from my other bed side. It was Ian.
"Are you for real?" Ian asked.
"IAN!!?" I said.
"Are you seriously that easy?
You're doing the same thing you did with me? I'm disappointed, Liz. I thought more than that!" Ian said.
"You're one to talk!
You were kissing someone else!" I replied.
That's when I heard another voice next to Ian. It was Kate.
"And he enjoyed it more than he did with you." Kate said.
"YOU!?" I said.
"Surprise." Kate replied.
"What the fuck is HAPPENING!?" I said.
"You can't stop having inappropriate thoughts about me." Elijah said.
"I see you prefer him over me." Ian said.
"No, I don't." I replied to Ian.
"Let's go, Ian.
I know how to cheer you up, baby." Kate said to Ian.
"Wait Ian… DON'T GO WITH HER!" I tried to Stop Ian.
And then I woke up. Turned out the all bed drama was just a dream.

Next, I was driving to school. I couldn't help my thoughts trialling back to that dream of mine. What did that even mean! That I was sexually attracted to Ian and Elijah at the same time. That I was afraid of Kate and Ian being together. God, I was messing with myself. I reached school. I saw Ian in the school hallway. I tried to act normal.
"Hey." I said to Ian.
"You're talking to me?" Ian asked.
"Sure, why not?" I replied.
"I don't know…
Maybe because every other time you're running away from me." Ian said.
"I don't know what you are talking about." I replied.
"What's with you? You're different! Something happened?" Ian asked.
"No.
Everything is fine." I replied.
"Ah." Ian said.
That's when Kate came.
"Ian.
Oh hi!" Kate said.
"Hi.
What are you doing here?" I replied.
"Going to school?" Kate said.
"What do you mean?
You're not going to this school!" I asked Kate.
"As of today, I actually do." Kate answered.
"What!?" I said.
"I guess we're classmates now. How exciting." Kate said.
"Are you serious?" I said.
"Dead serious.
Get a problem with that?" Kate replied.
"Of course not." I said.
"You knew about this, Ian?" I asked.
"Sure." Ian answered.
Of course he knew. They were friends after all.
"Why's that girl even standing with us?" Kate said to Ian.
"I'm going." I said and left from there.
