Chapter 42

The next day. I got ready for school and went downstairs. I saw Elijah was eating breakfast with mom.
"Elijah!??!" I said and freaked out.
"Good morning, Liz." Elijah said with a smile.
"Mom?" I said.
"Yes, baby?" Mom replied.
"What is he doing in our kitchen?" I asked Mom.
"I invited him for breakfast, honey." Mom answered.
"Why?" I asked.
"Don't be rude, he's our precious guest." Mom replied.
"I'm going to school." I said.
"Wait for me!" Elijah said.
"Stop harassing me!" I said to Elijah.
"That hurt!" Elijah said.
Elijah came to school with me. We were in the hallway, that's when Maeve came to us.
"Why is he with you?" Maeve asked me angrily.
"Be careful Maevy.
Liz is about to have a new BFF." Elijah teased Maeve.
"DON'T ever call me Maevy AGAIN!" Maeve warned Elijah.
"But it's so cute! Like you!" Elijah replied to Maeve.
That's when the Principal announced the student's campaign in the speaker.
"ATTENTION!
Class 1 and 7 are going for a camping trip together. Everything is already confirmed with your parents. There was a lot of bullying in the past months. This is about to end. We hope you build a closer relationship with your classmates throughout this trip and learn to respect one another. That was all, now go back to your classrooms." Principal announced.
Elijah got super happy by this announcement. That's when I noticed Ian was staring at us angrily, cause I was with Elijah.

It was campaign time now, we all were standing outside the bus.
"I'm so hyped!" Finn said.
"You're?
I never thought camping was your thing." Cole said to Finn.
"Forget about camping dude!
Everyone is sleeping in those small tents. It's dark outside and dangerous things are about to happen." Finn said with excitement.
"What dangerous things?" Jack asked.
"You know.
Dangerous stuff that always happens in the movies. And then all those cute little girls are gonna be so scared and need someone to protect them." Finn replied.
"Who's that?" Cole asked.
"ME of course you idiot." Finn replied.
"No, I really think you are the idiot here." Billy said to Finn.
"Say what you want.
I'm gonna have the time of my life." Finn said.
"I really wanna eat some bugs." Elijah said.
"Why?" I asked Elijah.
"Isn't that obvious?" Elijah said.
"No." I said.
"Everyone hates bugs. So obviously nobody would even dare eat them." Elijah replied.
"I don't see your point…" Billy said to Elijah.
"Imagine how impressed all the girls would be when they see me eating all those bugs." Elijah replied to Billy.
"I'll take my words back, Finn.
He's the idiot." Billy said, pointing to Elijah.
"Since when has he become a part of our group?" Maeve asked the boys.
"So, you admit to being a part of our group. I remember you hating this. Look at you now! A social butterfly." Finn replied to Maeve.
"The social butterfly is about to chop your head off, if you won't shut the fuck up." Maeve said to Finn.

That's when I saw Ian and Kate were standing together and talking. Just why Kate was so gorgeous! Couldn't he be with someone more ugly!? Why does my competition have to be some long legged, stacked up supermodel. Did I seriously say competition!? And why the hell he had to be so… Ian! Right, there should be an adjective like that. All the other ones existing just won't make him any justice. Shit, I was looking at him for so long. Ian looked over to where I stood.
His eyes still have this slight annoyance in them like they always did. As if everyone around him pissed the hell out of him. Which was probably the case. Imagine having superior looks, intelligence and power. And maybe even some other stuff he was … superior in. That's when Elijah brought his face near me.
"If you look really closely, my facial features are way more beautiful than his." Elijah said to me.
Then we went inside the bus and we were on our way. I was sitting with Maeve.
"This is like some typical teenage high school drama." I said to Maeve.
"Don't say that. Someone always dies in those dramas.
Although… on second thought I wouldn't mind if something happened to her or her." Maeve said, pointing to Samantha and Kate.
That's when we saw Elijah was flirting with another girl.
"You don't mind that?" Maeve asked me pointing to Elijah.
"I'm just glad that he doesn't have any bugs in his mouth." I replied.
"Listen up! Everyone!
Two people are gonna share one tent together. We need to build couples." Teacher said,
"I'm with Ian!" A girl said.
"No mixed genders!" Teacher replied.
"Are we gonna share one?" I asked Maeve.
"No, I wanna share with evil Barbie." Maeve said, pointing towards Kate. She was just kidding.
"You won't get to choose who you're together with. We'll draw lots." Teacher said,
"Seriously!?" A girl screamed.
"No!" Another girl said.
"I don't wanna!" Another girl said.
"BE QUIET!
The purpose of this trip is to strengthen your bond with your classmates. Not with your already close friends." Teacher explained.
"First pair. Samantha and Fiona." Teacher said,
"Eww! No!" Samantha said.
"Miss Cross! Be Silent!" Teacher said,
"Second pair, Violet and Bonnie. Thirt pair, Maeve Lee and Kate Solano." Teacher said,
"No." Maeve said to the teacher.
"Excuse me?" Teacher said to Maeve.
"I said NO!" Maeve said angrily.
"Yeah, I don't like this either.
I really don't wanna change anyone's diaper. You know because she's a little kid." Kate said to the teacher.
"No discussion here!" Teacher said to Maeve and Kate.
"Next pair, Billy Parker and Ian King." Teacher said,
"Dude you're paired with Ian. That's like pairing Superman and Aquaman." Finn said to Billy.
"Are you serious? As if Billy could be Aquaman. It's more like Batman with…" Cole said.
"Antman?" Finn replied.
"YES!" Cole said.
"Next Pair, Liz Varon and Daniel Bannet." Teacher said,
"Oh, please God no!" I said.
Maeve was laughing at me.
"Seriously?" I said to Maeve.
"What?...
I told you I like seeing other people's pain." Maeve replied.
"And the last pair is Elijah Jackson and Kio Chan." Teacher said,
"NO!" Elijah freaked out.
"Excuse me, Mr. Jackson!" Teacher said,
"I wanna share a tent with Liz!" Elijah said.
"No mixed genders!" Teacher replied.
"I DON'T CARE!
There are a lot of things I wanted to do with her in this tent! Don't take that away from me!" Elijah said to the Teacher.
"Mr. Jackson, please refrain from talking." Teacher said to Elijah.
Then Elijah stared to Teacher, I knew he was going to manipulate the teacher with his Vampire mojo. But before he got up from his seat, Ian hit him from behind. And Elijah went unconscious for a long time. So like that he paired Kio.

It was already pretty late when we finally arrived. Everyone was in the middle of building their tents. Daniel was telling me to do the tent things in the right way. Maeve was building their tent alone, Kate was sitting on it. And that's why they were fighting. Elijah was upset being paired with a guy not me. Most of the girls were checking on Ian. After all the tent work finished. We made a bonfire and all sat together around it in a circle. Finn was telling a story to everyone. Girls and some boys were really getting scared by Finn's story.
"And then the lights went out.
A noise was heard. Ashley was scared, because no one else was with her at home. She peeked through her bedroom door, to see if anybody's here.
And then she asked- IS ANYBODY THERE?
But of course nobody answered. After all, she was alone. Or was she?
She put up her courage and walked downstairs. She looked into the living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom. But… nothing. And wherever she went… Deadly silence. She thought she imagined things. Maybe she had been too tired. Afterall it was already 3:30 am. But then. The flooring creaked quietly behind her. And suddenly she felt someone's breath in her neck. Her hair rose. Her body stiffened. Her breath stuck. Ashley knew someone or something was standing behind her." Finn was telling the story.
Everyone was pretty scared. Finn continued his story.
"She slowly turned around. And what she saw, left her mouth wide open. She wanted to scream, but she was too terrified of the thing that faced her.
It was…
Billy's mom." Finn ended his story.
"Ha ha, very funny." Billy said.
"Hey you wanna hear a real horror story?" Elijah asked everyone. And everyone agreed. So Elijah started his story.
"There once was this boy. He was so incredibly lonely. He didn't believe that he would ever find any love. That no one would ever accept him the way he was. But then he met this girl. Who was as lonely as he was.
They connected on a level he never imagined was even possible. They spent a lot of time together, laughed together, and talked through the night. And eventually even kissed." Elijah was telling his story. Everyone was falling on it. Elijah continued his story.
"The once lonely boy wasn't lonely any longer. Or more like he found someone he could be together lonely with. He finally decided that it was time to get serious with her. He wanted to declare his love to her and make her his girlfriend. So, he ran over to her house to surprise her.
But when he opened her bedroom door…
The lonely boy found the love of his life with someone else. She was kissing someone else than him. The lonely boy was confused. Why would his soulmate do this to him? After all, they were deeply in love! At least that's what he thought.
Turned out that the once lonely girl found someone else. The lonely boy was replaced. You can imagine he wasn't happy about that. He had given his all to her. All his love. And she just threw it away, as if it didn't mean anything.
So the lonely boy had to do what the lonely boy had to do. He first ate her new boyfriend and made her watch. And then he ate her but more slowly. And saved the heart for the end. Happy ending." Elijah finished his story. The ending changed everyone's mood, lol.
