A/n: I haven't posted in a long time, and took some time off for academics without notifying you guys. Extremely sorry about that, and I'll try to be regular now! Thanks for supporting my work <3

Since you guys requested, here's the part two. Might as well continue this as a short series if I could think about a nice plotline.

So with a heavy heart she got up and took a glance at him one last time.

I wouldn't let anyone hurt you...

She thought.

With that she turned off the lamp on his nightstand and went to make her bed in the living room.

Y/n barely slept last night, she spent the time blaming herself for being unable to protect Benny, and not knowing that he was with the wrong woman in the first place. She crawled out of her warm place and let out an awful yawn. Yes, she was horribly exhausted, but she had to visit the doctor's with Benny.

Her skirt was creased, she had nothing to change into last night, Benny's shirt would have been a good fit but she was pretty occupied in her own thoughts to even notice until now.

Her hands ran over the irregular folds of her skirt to smoothen them out, and she splashed some cold water on her face after she reached his so-called bathroom.

Y/n made some scrambled eggs for herself and Benny though she was surprised to find a carton of them in his refrigerator.

Benny woke up to a whiff of warm breakfast that his best friend had prepared for him. He was more than grateful for the things she had been doing all these years for him.

She was someone he could trust with closed eyes, and yet y/n didn't know why he never saw her as his partner.

Rubbing his eyes softly, he entered the living room in his robe, his hair tousled to the point that they were sticking out in all the possible directions.

'Good morning, love.' mumbled Benny.

Y/n's eyes found him leaning against the kitchen counter, and she couldn't help but smile.

'Good morning, Benny.' she spoke softly.

Benny inched closer and brushed a silky strand of hair behind her ear, making her look at him.

With him standing so close, her cheeks flushed red, she turned her head back down to make it unnoticeable.

However Benny didn't fail to see it, he just brushed it off.

'Uh- we must go see the doctor after you're done having breakfast.' said y/n.

She moved away from him, possibly not ready to put herself through those train of emotions that Benny would end up breaking when he finds a new girl.

Her eyes scanned his face and went down his bare chest where she noticed the bruise and remembered what she was here for.

To help him through this, not fall in love with him all the times she saw him.

__________

'There's clearly no bone injury.' said the woman examining Benny's x-ray reports under the light. She was a skilled doctor and had quite the reputation in New York.
