Today wasn't any better. I was completely engulfed by my own thoughts, the ones which were complete opposites of each other. One moment I thought that this is all absurd, that I should be on Benny's side and the other moment I wanted him gone forever.

'Y/n, it's time to leave.' said my sister who was dressed in a casual pair of jeans and a shirt which was similar to what I was wearing.

'Yeah, gimme a minute.' I said.

I walked towards my vanity and picked up the delicate necklace, put it around my neck and hid it under the shirt. This piece means a lot to me, it was given by him...

I rushed down the stairs and then we got in a cab. I checked the time on my wrist watch and looked up a the sky, it was pretty clear and I could see the moon, not the stars though. They were barely visible in cities.

It was half past eight.

It will all be over before midnight.

The car stopped right outside the headquarters and soon we went in. Agent Parker was already waiting and smiled as he saw me.

'It's good to see you here.' he said.

Tonight we weren't sitting in our usual room with comfortable couches. Instead, I found myself sitting on a bench with the same fourteen officers sitting right behind me. Beth insisted that she should be considered in the plan but Parker assured my safety.

Besides, Benny knew her very well and he would definitely get suspicious if he spotted that red bob of hair just strolling near the lake.

We were all facing a huge board which had the plan scribbled on it with a white chalk. Half an hour passed, we were still listening to Parker and when he was done, the others left to get dressed as common folk.

'Ms. Harmon, you have five minutes to prepare yourself and then we'll leave for the lake.' said Parker who then left to get dressed too.

My sister barged in the room the moment he left and held my arms, panic was clearly visible on her face.

'What did he say?'

'Relax Beth, we're going to get this over with and we're leaving in five minutes.' I said.

'Promise me you'll be careful.' she said.

'What could he possibly do to me? Besides, I have an entire team of armed officers with me. But I promise that I'll be safe.' I said.

She pulled me in a hug and kissed the top of my head.

A team of armed officers. What if they hurt him?

'Go on now.' she said.

Time passed quickly and we were seated in cars which took us to the lake. They dropped me off so that I could walk to the lake. Now you don't want him to find out that I just stepped out of a police car, right?

The air was colder near the lake, the moon's reflection was clear in it until a breeze created some small waves and distorted it.

Again my eyes darted towards the watch, it was 10pm exactly.
