The faces were everywhere. Much to Satomi's dread, she'd soon after destroying her first pillar, discovered a second one. And then a third. A fourth. She'd raged and rampaged. But there were still more. Each draining her magic as well as the earth itself.
It was the perfect weapon to disarm her. To take away her power. Her life.
She could feel her magic slipping between her fingers like sand. There was no stopping it. The magic that'd helped form her existence was slowly draining away. Each second bringing her closer to death. And her father.
Those damned faces. She couldn't make it to all of them. Not when there were so many. Not when... Not when she couldn't hear Laxus anymore. Not when she couldn't feel him.
Was he dead?
Refusing to acknowledge the dread had only gotten her so far. Had only proved effective for a brief time. Too brief. What if her father was already busy tormenting-...
Her attacks on the immovable pillars had quickly grown unassertive. The desparation in her mind taking over. She'd lost record of the world around her. There were only the faces. Only those damned faces that seemed to grow in number for each time she made a turn.
Which seemed to mock her efforts with their many expressions.
So she roared and clawed and ripped them apart, along with the trees, the dirt. The very earth itself. Satomi yanked and yanked on that limp, unresponsive link in her mind.
Gone.
He couldn't be... He couldn't be.
There was no sound aside from the roaring in her head. She couldn't hear her own ground shattering bellows. Couldn't hear the faces as they smothered and crashed to the ground. There was only that manic roaring in her head.
Once her magic proved unable to keep demolishing the faces, Satomi discarded any regard of her sensibility. She would take them down. As many as she could, even if it meant she'd have to break her own body to do so.
She quickly lost track of that too. How many shapes she took to crash against the white pillars. How many bones that broke, only to barely heal before she reached the next target.
Gone.
The voice of the man she'd once done everything in her power and wit to keep away from her. The man that'd made her feel like severing heads. The man whom she'd despiced so passionately... She couldn't hear him. Couldn't reach him.
...So the world might as well burn.
Satomi was hurtling for another face statue, when a deafening roar pierced through the chaos in her head. She was yanked from her mindless rampage and into a world that, aside from the faces still littering the area, seemed uprooted and askew wherever she turned.
It looked... As if the very ground had been twisted and warped by giant, merciless hands. Fire blazed uncontrolled on the hills to her far south, and a cold dread slithered down her back as she recognized the feel of that power. That malicious, poisonous filth that slithered in her veins. Let loose in the absense of her sensibility.
In an act of pure instinct, the massive scaled form she'd taken leapt back and away from the face she'd been about to crash into. A startled snarl rumbling in her throat. No sooner than as her paws struck the ground, a massive white figure swept down from the sky.
Another deafening blast shook the ground and white stone laced with ethernano splintered in every direction. The rumbling of the ground was enough to dishelf her balance and the exhausted shapeshifter found herself having to take to the skies. The summoning of wings large enough to carry her massive body was a gruelling task. And one she barely found herself having enough magic for.
