Gildarts huffed a bit as he climbed the mandearing path which had become so familiar the past month. He could already spy the entrance to the cave and readjusted the fawn resting on his shoulders.

Her appetite was finally returning at a more steady pace. But she was still quiet. Hardly ever spoke as much as a word. Wouldn't look him in the eye.

Satomi was having a hard time dealing with her memory loss. Just like the last time. And the time before that.

A frown crept onto Gildarts features as he climbed the steep hill.

Her recovery was taking longer than usual. Yet she was more restless in her sleep. Which was how she spent most of the time when she wasn't eating. It was as if she just couldn't get enough rest. Her average was 22 hours of sleep a day. It had him mind boggled.

Whatever it was that had made her stressed of late, it had obviously been a rather groundshaking change for her to be this exhausted.

As he entered the opening of the cave he immediately spotted that she was awake. Simply sitting upright and staring blankly ahead of her. The first time he'd done this to her he'd been completely frantic at her seemingly katatonic state. Now he knew, she was just healing.

"Good morning" Satomi blinked and her head snapped to him in a startled manner. Those chilly grey eyes landed on him with the regular scepsism.

"... Morning" Gildarts couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as she actually bothered to respond. Her eyes moved to the animal draped over his shoulders. A weak groan escaped him as he dumped the animal on the ground with a thud.

"How was your sleep?" He continued to question, expecting the same as usual. No answer, or no nightmares. Satomi's eyebrows knitted together slightly and she looked away with a confused expression.

"... There was a man" Gildarts eyebrows raised and he turned to look at her in curiosity as he pulled out his knife to start skinning his catch.

"Nightmares?" Satomi shook her head.

"He didn't seem bad... There was a scar on his face... But he was smiling so radiantly..." Gildarts looked at her incredulously as a smile tugged at her lips. Her tone absent but strangely charmed by this image she had in her mind. Her hand traveled to her neck as a small hum left her lips. For a moment Gildarts found himself so surprised at the rare sight of her smile he forgot what he was initially doing.

He'd known Satomi for over twenty years, yet this might just be the first time he'd seen her smile.

Clearly his staring made her uncomfortable and she scooted away without meeting his stare, followed by a indiscernable mumble.

The sclass mage turned back to the fawn again with a shrug.

"I suppose its good if you sometimes dream without nightmares" Satomi didn't respond to his dismissal of the subject. Silence filled the air as he continued to prepare the animal for cooking. Once they'd eaten Satomi was fast asleep again.

Gildarts sighed as he sat back leaning against the back wall of the cave. She still couldn't remember him, or anyone from the guild. He was going to be tied down here for a while.

----

Laxus let out a deep groan as he slumped into a seat by one of the tables at the guild, just having returned from a quest with the thunder legion.

Though he'd suggested to Satomi she could join them, of course she'd declined.

A smirk tugged at his lips as his eyes landed on the grey haired mage sitting a short distance off, reading. Or rather, pretending to read in an effort to ignore Lisanna's teasing.
