Lisanna's POV
Her legs and lungs were burning as she struggled to run through the devastated ruins of her home. Above, some sort of beast was fighting. Friend or foe, she wasn't sure, but it seemed to have the ropes on the black dragon.
Still, an ill foreboding urged her forward, despite exhaustion gnawing at her bones. She had to find the others. Had to-
A yelp errupted from her as the rubble slid from beneath her, sending her hurtling down a slope. Rocks and dust rained around her. Her head slamming into a hard surface making the world spin futher.
Lisanna groaned, her limbs trembling as she laid paralysed at the bottom of the hill. Her chest ached as she struggled to inhale, and began coughing uncontrolled as dust filled her mouth and throat, blood splattered the ground infront of her. She grimaced in agony as another blast rocked the earth. Rocks rained onto her and she whimpered, struggling to cover her head from the onslaught.
"Lisanna!" A familiar voice reached her from a distance, and the mage struggled to get up. Levy. That was Levy's voice. Getting her arms beneath her for support demanded a considerable effort, but she managed enough to look ahead. The sight made something of a relieved sob escape her, and filled her with a renewed will. She struggled to fight her way to her feet, and had just managed to bring her legs beneath her as Levy reached her.
"Thank the gods! Are you allright?" Levy grabbed her, pulling her closer to offer some much appreciated support. Lisanna nodded with a wince.
"I'll live." A cough rocked her lungs as she made a sweep over the smaller mage at her side. Levy was injured as well, but she could still run, which was a good sign. "Do you know where the others are?" She questioned softly, earning a nod, concern clear in the bluehaired woman's face.
"Some. Laxus and Porlyusica is with me. Satomi-" Another rupture shook the earth and Levy's head snapped in the direction of the blast as they struggled to keep their footing. Lisanna turned as well, her eyes widening at the sight that welcomed her through the settling dust.
Acnologia had fallen.
The dragon laid bleeding and beaten amidst a pile of debris. Lisanna trembled at the sight. Less than twohundred meters from them, the black terror laid beaten down.
"We have to get away from here." Levy said with urgency, pulling at Lisanna's arm, but the mage wouldn't budge. "Right now."
"What- Who did this?" Lisanna's voice shook, all warmth having drained from her face. Levy continued her attempts at hauling her away.
"I'll explain, just not her-" The female was cut off by the stirring of the black dread, and Lisanna backed a step. Not dead.
Lisanna's terrified whimper got drowned by the crash as another object struck the ground between them and the dragon. Both women yelped and ducked as more debris flew from the impact.
"Lisanna!" Levy urged, but Lisanna might as well have been nailed to the ground as she witnessed the creature standing between them and the black dread. A cold shudder slithered down her back as she watched her friend. Only, this shape was completely different from what she'd previously seen her take.
This one... This one just seemed evil.
Acnologia stirred again, a clearly agonised sound rumbling from the massive beast. Then, with another ground shaking movement, the massive form began to shrink. Ice set into Lisanna's veins as she watched.
"That's... Satomi?" She breathed shakily as Levy again tried to pull her away, having now resorted to trying to yank her away by force.
"That." Levy gritted out. "Is a death god. She's not your friend." Lisanna's eyebrows furrowed in disbelief.
