In the end they did run into another traveler who allowed them to sit in the back of his carridge in exchange for protection. Apparently the road from Clover to the town they were going to, had been victim of robberies in the past few weeks. The wagon they sat in had a cotton tent covering it, hiding the goods and people inside. It also offered the two mages some privacy from the stranger who was driving. The man had told them that unfortunately the town was too far away to reach it before dark, and they would have to sleep outside. Satomi had been deeply dissappointed, if she'd traveled in her usual way she would have already arrived. Instead she'd have to settle with being patient and endure the relentless pull towards the man sitting at the opposite side of the wagon.

The ride was far from plesant, the wagon and some of the crates surrounding them jumping each time they hit a large stone or hole in the road. Satomi had settled to read her book, it took her a while before she noticed how quiet Laxus had grown since they began on the second part of their journey. Her grey eyes surveyed his muscular figure from over the edge of her book. He sat with his eyes closed, and had one arm propped up on one of the crates which he used to support his head. Satomi couldn't help but staring at him in silence, he'd removed his traveling cloack, using it to sit on instead of the hard wooden floor of the wagon. Due to the still warm summer weather he only wore a sleveless, black, tightly fitted shirt which did an exelent job at exposing the muscles on his arms. It also offered a generous hint at what hid underneath the black fabric. Satomi's mouth went dry as she watched him, he was simply to handsome. Once again she found herself wondering how this was going to end. Initially she'd planned to quit the guild to be able to keep her distance, and yet here she was. On her way to a quest with the man she'd sworn to never speak to. Her eyes moved to his face instead, noticing how pale he looked. Confusion clouded her mind for a moment before she realized.

"Wait, do you get motion sickness?" Her sudden words made him open his eyes to look at her, Satomi felt like a fool for not realizing sooner. Even so he'd never uttered a single word of complaint about it. For the first time that day he was the one to break away from her gaze.

"Not really" Satomi giggled at the obvious lie finding a surprising amount of glee in it. But it did also seem strange to her, he only had a lacrima, so it made no sense for him to get motion sickness. A few minutes passed before he turned back to her.

"Why do you ask?" Satomi smirked at him in victory as he admitted the fact without even saying it. She put her book away sitting up properly from her halfway laying down position.

"Just curious, I happen to know a thing or two about lacrimas, I thought I might be able to cancel it out... But since it obviously doesn't bother you..." She grinned at him mischiveously, taking her chance to tease him back a little bit. His eyes drifted to the scar on her neck, Satomi prentended to not notice but he obviously had his suspicions. Despite knowing better she simply couldn't leave it alone. She chuckled again waving at him teasingly to come closer. His expression told her that he was too proud to ask for it himself.

"Come here" The shapeshifter made no effort to hide her amusment as he hesistantly shifted towards her from the other side of the cart, placing himself in a crosslegged postion in front of her. It was easy to tell that he was deply ashamed of the ridiculous handicap.

"I'm at your mercy" Satomi sat on her legs and grinned sadistically.

"As usual" She joked and he sent her a glare while she lifted her hands up to his face, cupping his cheeks with her hands. She studied the lightning scar stretching over the right side of his face, cutting straight through his eyebrow and down his eyelid and cheek. The jagged lines around the edges of the scar made her think of how painful it had probably been to receive the lacrima. She stroked a thumb over it gently as they stared eachother down for a moment before she closed her eyes to focus. She let her magic flow out from her fingertips as she checked if the small crystal would still respond to her. A small smile flashed over her lips at the familiar sensation that flowed into her as the magic resonated in her. Her focus turned to getting rid of the motionsickness. Memories flashed through her mind as she felt the precense of the magic.
