Laxus had heard some of the locals murmuring about a panther sighting outside of town, which was very strange since the species wasn't native to the region. It hadn't taken him long to figure out that it had to be Satomi. Lisanna had been worried since the two had apparently had an agreement to go shopping together a few days ago, but the shapeshifter never showed up. Satomi laid sprawled on a big branch high in a tree beside one of the hiking trails just outside of town, she'd turned into her panther from and seemed to be asleep when Laxus arrived. Her tail whipped back and fourth in a distressed way. One of her front legs hung limply from the side of the branch while she used the other as a pillow. Both of her hind legs laid pointing in Laxus direction. Suddenly her claws protruded from her paws digging into the wood of the branch and she growled in her sleep. Laxus' eyebrows knitted together, was she having a bad dream? Was she even sleeping? After a moment he reached his hand up pointing a finger at her tail as it came whipping past and he sent a small lightning jolt at her. Satomi jerked from the sensation and opened her eyes with a growl as she realized immideately who'd woken her up.
The panther moved its head slightly to look at him, her amber eyes meeting his. She didn't look like she was particularly happy to see him, which came as no surprise to Laxus. He smiled at her softly.
"I can't quite see how it's supposed to be comfortable to sleep like that" He commented in way of greeting. Satomi didn't respond but continued to stare at him with her tail whipping in an annoyed manner.
"Did something happen?" He continued to question after a moment as he recived no response to his comment. Exactly the same thing happened again, Laxus sighed.
"Come back to the guild with me, Lisanna's been worried ever since you stood her up two days ago" Satomi stood from the branch she was on and streched out yawning widely, her front claws digging into the wood of the tree, making the bark curl. Laxus smiled hopefully at her while she did, studying the shiny black fur which covered her body, and the way her muscles moved as she did. Once she finished stretching she looked at him once again before turning her back on him and jumped from the branch, then dissappeared deeper into the forest. Laxus waited for a minute, staring at the spot she'd dissappeared to hoping she'd return, but she didn't. A heavy sigh escaped him and he shook his head.
"Not in the mood, huh?" He headed back to town empty handed, hoping that at least she'd seek out Lisanna and apologize.
It was late afternoon by the time Satomi eventually made an appearance at the guild hall for the first time in five days. The building was brimming with people, truth be told the young mage was in no mood to deal with the buzzing guild. But she needed to speak to Lisanna, she'd completely forgotten they even had an agreement, and hoped that the white haired mage wasn't too dissappointed. She sighed as she scanned the main hall, the woman she was looking for wasn't there. After standing in the doorway for a moment she eventually decided to sit down and wait. She sat at the bar, furthest away from the crowd as she could get and ordered a bowl of ramen and a beer from Mirajane.
"By the way, do you know where Lisanna is?" She looked at her hopefully, but the other woman shook her head softly.
"No, sorry. I don't know if she'd planned on stopping by today" Satomi's shoulders sagged in dissapointment. Mirajane placed her beer on the counter infront of her and Satomi nodded appreciatively at the other s-class mage. She took a sip despite not really feeling like drinking or eating. She picked up her book and settled to read while she waited for her food, but found herself unable to focus. Her nightmares had been growing increasingly worse lately, she always felt more exhausted after waking up than when she went to sleep. With a heavy sigh she covered her face with her hands, leaning on the counter and closing her eyes tiredly. She noticed when Laxus entered the guild a few minutes later, but she didn't greet him, and he didn't come over either. Once again she tied to bring her focus to the plot of the book she was reading. She leaned her head on the back of her left hand as she read. After a few minutes her eyes started sagging again causing her to shake her head violently trying to wake herself up. Her quota for nightmares and misery was reached full in her mind. She couldn't stand the thought of having another.
