Satomi had failed, she didn't have the strength to leave. Couldn't make herself say the words. And to her surprise she'd discovered that Laxus hadn't yet used his dragon slayer magic. Which meant she still had some time to figure stuff out.
She leaned her head on her hand and frowned, glaring at the beer in her mug. To her relief he'd left by the time she'd finished her conversation with the guild master. A sigh escaped her as she used a claw to draw a pattern into the wood of the counter.
She really didn't need him, and definetly didn't want him. Why was she like this? It served her no good at all. With all her versatile power, and yet she couldn't deal with this. She prefered solitude, always had. It would have made everything so much easier if she wasn't like this. Her entire life had been one tragedy after the next. Wherever she went noone would accept her once they learned what she really was. Except Makarov. He'd let her join the guild, and even though few of her fellow guildmates knew her, they never looked at her in fear. She had the same crest on her body as they did. The thought of losing that crest broke her heart. The only place she'd ever felt like she belonged. It had all come crashing down the first time she met Laxus, he'd been just six years old, Satomi was ten. He'd just been a frail little boy, she had created the dragon lacrima inside him, which would nurse him back to health. As soon as she laid eyes on him she'd known she couldn't let him die.
A hand slammed onto the table beside her, making Satomi jump in her seat as she was yanked back to reality, but as soon as the hand hit the table she knew exactly who it was. She turned to face the man at her side, her mate.
"You broke my hand earlier" His voice was dark, definetly not a happy camper. Satomi reigned in her startled heart and smirked as she lifted her beer mug.
"I know" She said smugly before taking a sip. Laxus didn't answer, he just continued to glare at her. She sat her beer back down slowly, demonstrating how little he intimidated her.
"Serves you right for talking down to a woman like that" She continued while ordering another beer. This had been her guild hall for longer than him, she would not be the first to leave. The young woman took a sideways glance at the man at her side, still smiling smugly. She could tell by his scent that he was ready to take a shot at her. And as her second drink arrived he slammed it off the counter before she could reach for it. Satomi stared at it with a bored expression as it spilled over the floor. With a sigh and a flicker of her wrist the mug lifted from the ground, and the precious drops of beer returned to it unspoiled. It set itself down without making any noise infront of her.
"Are you going to stand there and glare at me for the rest of the afternoon? Or did you have something more to say to me other than stating fact?" The tone of her voice did nothing to calm Laxus down as he stood by her side. Even though she bore the guilds mark he'd only seen her once before. The old man also wouldn't say much about her. No one seemed to know her, most only said they had heard rumors of her. Some said they had seen glimpses of her. She never spoke to anyone but the master. Suspicious, that was the category Laxus had put her in. There was no magic power radiating from her at all, she seemed like an ordinary human. And yet she used magic more casualy than most in the guild. She'd had him pinned down before he had even had the chance to realize what happened. He could still feel the small puncture wounds she'd made on his neck, even though it was barely a scratch. Was it takeover magic? No, if that was the case then it would have taken longer, and the change would have been more prominent. He needed to figure this woman out.
"Not my fault that you're easily offended" Satomi raised an eyebrow at him, she didn't exactly see herself as easily offended.
"Or maybe I just don't like you?"
"You don't even know me" Satomi nodded her head just barely to the side raising her eyebrows again in agreement, it was a fair point.
"Let's just say I have a hunch then" Laxus only got more annoyed at her sharp tone, and the fact that she wouldn't even look at him properly. She behaved like he was beneath her, but if he got the chance he knew he'd overpower her, no matter what her type of magic was.
"Whats your problem?" The words came out a tad sharper than he'd intended, but Satomi didn't offer it any thought. She wanted to flash her fangs at him again but refrained. She could feel the satisfied growl the more primal part of her wanted to answer with. Right before she jumped him. Her frown deepened.
"Right now you are, leave me alone"
"I ain't leaving till you look at me" Satomi couldn't do that, she was already struggling to not shake from restraining herself. Her hands clammy from the feeling that still presided from touching him earlier. But the thought of indulging him was also slightly intriguing. This was after all an area she hadn't really tested her selfrestraint in. She put down her beer and turned to face him, putting her elbow on the bar and leaning her head on her hand. She crossed her thigs and looked at him. A small glimmer of surprise flashed in his eyes, gone in less than a second. She smiled sweetly at him.
"Well?" She challenged. He didn't say anything for a moment as he took her in. Her attire was similar to the last time he saw her, and she was just as beautiful. Perhaps even more so, if that was possible. Satomi somehow found it amusing how the young man in front of her didn't seem to know what to do or say since she did as he'd asked. But Laxus was still mad, her sweet smile hadn't redemed her from her prior loss of temper, good.
She wanted to reach out and touch him, feel his warmth beneath her fingers again. Wondered if his hair was soft to touch, as the thought hit her she noticed that unlike the last time he had most of his hair slicked back with only a few stray tufts of hair falling down over his forehead. He'd grown into a handsome young man, he almost took her breath away. But with an dissapointing attitude. Which was probably a good thing, it made it easier to steer clear.
Laxus observed her in return, fascinated as to how her eyes very faintly started to shift color. It was so vauge he wondered if he was seeing things, but it looked like they strarted to take on a more amber color.
"Tch, I got better things to do" He grumbled eventually and turned to leave. Satomi felt a small sliver of dissapointment. But quickly shook it off, it was better if he didn't linger at her side for to long. She wouldn't be able to let go if he did.
Satomi started to turn back to the bar, but her eyes wandered to his bandaged hand. She frowned. He hadn't really deserved to get his hand broken from a snide remark. Satomi reached for his hand without a second thought. Making the Lightning mage stop in his tracks.
"Get your hands off me!" Satomi willingly obliged, already finished healing the broken joints. Laxus' stared at her partly angry, partly confused. He felt the pulsating in his hand ease and realized what she'd done. Satomi turned back to the bar without another word. The young mage stared at her back for a second in disbelief, she'd touched him for barely a second. He removed the bandage and inspected his hand, no sign of the bruises and broken bones she'd inflicted him with earlier.
Satomi tensed as the mage at her back leaned closer, his arm almost touching her shoulder, the proximity was definitely intentional. He placed the bandage on the bar, the sound of sparks cracking sounded behind her as well as a bright light flashing, then he was gone.
