Satomi's head was pounding when she finally came too. The dust and ash had settled while she'd been knocked out, and she was covered in it. Her head spun as she fought her way to her feet. The morning sun blinded her.  She'd lost her spear, it was probably buried under some gravel. She needed to find it and make sure it was safe.

The gray haired mage wandered the streets of the destroyed city, using the large piles of destroyed buildings as support as she made her way. Relief washed over her as she spotted the shaft of the spear poking out of a large piece of rubble. Her body protested heavily against moving as she reached out to close her hand around the handle. She was exhausted, the loss of blood having left her weak.

Something shifted behind her as she yanked the spear out with a loud groan, her knees almost buckling. She sighed relieved as she watched her blade for a moment, before it began to dissolve as she sent it safely back to her armory.

"Satomi" Erza's voice sounded behind her and she turned to smile a exhausted smile looking at the red head.

"You made it out allright, thank goodness" Satomi's voice was more of a rasping sound, her throat felt dry from all the dust she'd inhaled. The armored woman was also heavily injured, despite having been healed in the midst of fighting.  Erza smiled weakly at her as Satomi approached slowly due to her limp. The gray haired mage had been able to heal the worst of her injuries, but was still bleeding slightly from the deep cuts in her abdomen, as well as the injury on her foot from getting mauled.

"We've been looking all over for you, I'm glad you're alright" Satomi gave her an apologetic look, the red head was hardly in any shape to be searching the ruins.

"I passed out" She excused as Erza motioned for her to follow her, keeping a slow pace. She nodded understandingly and a silence fell between them.

"Is everyone else alright?" Satomi questioned anxiously, Erza didn't reply immideately, it wasn't hard to tell she was worried as well. Satomi's heart sank.

"We haven't been able to account for everyone yet.... At least not the last time I spoke to master" A grim silence followed. They rounded a corner, and the space around them opened up a little bit, Satomi could hear someone talking a short distance off. They had to be closing in on the others. Erza stopped moving abruptly catching Satomi's attention, the redhead looked directly at her.

"Your spear... I know it. How did you come across it?  How are you capable of wielding it?" Satomi looked at her, surprised at her guild mate's hard tone. At first she wasn't sure how to respond. How much could she share about it without causing worry? Erza allowed her time to think but crossed her arms over her chest looking at her sceptically.

"I... It was a gift, from my father..." Satomi offered, the words felt strange on her tounge. Claiming that she'd ever recieved a gift from him felt wrong, but she didn't know what other word to use. Erza's features revealed nothing as she waited for Satomi to answer her second question.

"It takes a lot of concentration, and practice..." Erza still didn't look like she was satisfied with her explanation. Satomi frowned as she tried to gather her scattered and exhausted mind.

"My father wants me to use it for evil, but I refuse to do his bidding. I've been hiding from him since I was a child, he's very dangerous. That's all I can tell you" Her voice grew a bit more steady as she finally pieced her thoughts together. Erza gave her a long stare, Satomi didn't break her gaze as she waited for her fellow mage to make up her mind about it.

"What kind of evil?" Satomi wanted to sigh, she'd hoped that with her last line would have prevented the subject from progressing further.

"Mass murder, destruction, torture..." Satomi's voice trailed off at the end as her numerous nightmares flashed through her head, of her father's wicked fantasies. Satomi finally broke Erza's gaze, guilt washing over her from even being alive.
