A/N - I don't know how batting cages work :D
———————————————————————*knock knock*
Katsuki looked away from the cardboard box he had just opened and looked over at his door to see his father standing there.
"Hey Kat, you didn't uh, come down for breakfast. So I'm just checking to make sure you're doing alright." Masaru said to the boy. "I'm fine." Katsuki grumbled as he took out some books from the box.
Masaru frowned slightly at the teen as he watched him sort out the books. "So uh, how was your first night here?" Masaru asked hoping to start some sort of conversation with his son. "Fine, I guess." Katsuki said and walked over to the bookcase so he could put the books away.
"Oh, that's good, I was just asking since when people move they tend to have a rough first couple of nights since they're sleeping somewhere that's unfamiliar to them. Ha, I tossed and turned a few times myself but I'm glad to know that you're doing alright!" Masaru said and frowned when he noticed that his son was completely ignoring him.
"*sigh* Look, I know that you hate being here." Masaru began to say. "Noo what the hell gave it away?" Katsuki said sarcastically as he finished up putting away the books. "Come on Katsuki you gotta give this place a chance especially if you're going to be running the company here." Masaru said making Katsuki roll his eyes before crossing his arms and turning around to face the man.
"If you just give this place a chance I'm sure you can find something here that you like, like new friends or a school club!" Masaru began listing off things to which Katsuki just tuned him out.
'Find something I like *scoff* like that would happen-' Katsuki thought but began to think about the greenette he saw yesterday and the fact that his new school has a baseball team. 'Okay, maybe there are a few things I might like here.' Katsuki thought as a light blush dusted his cheeks as he thought more about the green-haired boy.
"Oh, you know what!?" Masaru said gaining the boy's attention. "The house staff will be arriving soon so why don't you leave the rest of the unpacking for them while you go out and explore the town!" Masaru suggested. "Explore the town?" Katsuki repeated flatly and Masaru just nodded his head.
"Yeah! There are tons of places that you could check out like the mall, bakery, batting cadges, museum..." Masaru said listing off places that Katsuki could visit. Katsuki's eyes light up slightly by the mention of batting cadges.
"They also have a-" "Shut up already I know where I want to go." Katsuki said interrupting his father before walking past him and out the door.
"Oh great...w-wait where are you going!?" Masaru turned around and called out but got no reply back.
Bakugou stared down at his phone as he got off the bus. 'It should be over here somewhere.' Bakugou thought as he looked up from the directions on his phone. He looked to the left then to the right and saw a sign on a building that read 'Yakyu's Batting Cages.'
Bakugou's eyes lit up once he saw the sign. He quickly walked over to the building and went inside. He entered the building and saw a few people in the cages swinging their bats at baseballs that were being pitched to them via an automatic pitcher. Others were sitting by a little indoor cafe talking to one another. There were people in cages throwing a baseball at each other and catching it. And some were just walking around the place.
Bakugou stood still as he stared at the place in utter awe. 'This place is way better than the one by gramps place.' Bakugou thought to himself.
"Man how many is that now? The kid hasn't missed a single one yet." Bakugou snapped out of his little trance when he heard someone speak. "Of course he hasn't missed any that's Hisashi's kid after all!" Bakugou turned his head and heard another man say.
"Ha, yeah you're right! He sure is making him proud... You know I was actually the first one to teach him how to pitch." "Haha, shut up!" "Haha, what I'm serious!" Bakugou watched as the two men walked away continuing their conversation as the left.
'Who were they talking about?' Bakugou thought as he looked to where the men were looking at before. His heart then skipped a beat when he saw the boy the two men were talking about.
"No fucking way." Bakugou whispered to himself as he continued to stare at the greenette that he saw yesterday. 'I can't believe he's actually here! Should I talk to him? No that's fucking stupid, I don't even know if he goes for that...No I came here for the batting cages so that's what I'm gonna do!' Bakugou thought and looked back over to the boy seeing that there is an empty cage next to him.
'But if I happen to be next to him then maybe...' Bakugou thought to himself as he excitedly walked over to the front desk.
As soon as Bakugou approached the front desk the man there looked at him up and down before putting down his magazine and turned his full attention to the boy.
"Can I help you?" The man raised his eyebrow and asked the teen. "Yeah, I want a couple of rounds." Bakugou said as he pointed his thumb over to the cages. Bakugou frowned as he watched the man lean forward in his chair and narrow his eyes at him.
"What? You got a problem?" Bakugou said his anger slightly getting the best of him. "....Do you need a helmet and a bat?" The guy asked as he leaned away from the boy. "Yeah, I do..." Bakugou told him still feeling weirded out from being stared down like that.
The man went to the back room and returned a few seconds later with a baseball bat and helmet. "It's 3,000(roughly $25) for half an hour and 4,600(roughly $40) for the full hour. Plus an additional 1,700(roughly $15) for the equipment." The man told Bakugou as he placed the objects on the counter. Bakugou took out his wallet and handed the guy 4,700 yen.
"You can choose whatever cage is free." The guy said as he finished putting the money in the register. "Thanks." Bakugou said as he picked up the items and walked away.
The man picked back up the magazine as he watched the blonde walk away. "So there's a new rich boy in town, great." The man grumbled to himself. "*sigh* Well there's no harm in letting him play today, he'll know the rules on Monday." He sighed out before focusing back on his magazine.
