Morning Routine

Deku woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside of his bedroom window. The teen sat up in his bed and began stretching out his arms. He looked over at his phone resting on the bedside table and unplugged it from the charger. He checked the time seeing that he woke up ten minutes earlier than his alarm.

He turned off the alarm and let out a small sigh as he looked around the dimly lit room. He smiled softly when he saw his dog resting at the foot of his bed. Deku got out of bed and went over to pet his dog's head causing the Shiba Inu to lean into the boy's touch.

"Morning Hiro." Deku said quietly to the dog who growled softly in reply. Deku then went over to his closet and grabbed a hoodie. While putting on the hoodie he went over to his bedside table and grabbed his phone and the earbuds that were resting next to it. Once he left his room he walked down the hall and passed through the living room to get to the front door.

Deku took his red high tops out of the closet near the door and put them on. He was about to leave the apartment when he happened to look next to him and see a framed picture of his dad resting on top of the sideboard and in-between two unlit candles. Deku's gaze on the photo softened before he quickly turned away and opened the door, leaving the apartment.

Deku stood with his back towards the front door of his apartment and closed his eyes as he took a deep breath in. He let out his breath and watched as the cold morning air turned his breath into a misty cloud that quickly dissipated into the air.

The teen then put his earbuds in and started playing music from the Spotify app on his phone. Once the music started playing he began heading towards the stairwell so he could get to the ground floor and start his morning run.

"Morning kid!" A man yelled out to the teen running through the parking lot for the apartment building. "Morning Mr. Kamiya! Good luck with your meeting today!" Deku yelled back at the man. "Haha, Thanks kid!" The adult yelled before getting into his car.

As Deku was continuing his run he was about to run past a house where a woman was sitting outside on her porch with a cigarette in her hand. Deku took out one of his earbuds as he got ready to speak to the older lady.

"Morning Ms. Nishikawa!" Deku called out to the woman gaining her attention. The woman frowned and clicked her teeth at the boy. "Where the hell are your clothes boy!?" The woman yelled back at him.

Deku stopped running and looked down at his outfit which was just some black basketball shorts and his light blue hoodie with the sleeves rolled up. "You're going to catch a cold being out like that." She said as she pointed at the boy's clothes. "Ha, I'll be fine I always run dressed like this, you know that." Deku said laughing lightly at the lady.

"Tch, I don't want to hear it! You should always dress warm during the winter! Actually, you shouldn't even be out so early go back to bed like a normal kid!" She yelled at Deku before raising the cigarette up to her mouth. What she said caused the boy's smile to widen. "But I don't like being a normal kid! And you shouldn't be out here either, smoking is bad for your health grandma!" Deku said before he began running again.

"Who the hell are you calling grandma! I ain't that old!" The woman stood up from her porch and yelled at the boy. "Whatever you say, granny!" Izuku yelled back.

"Next time I see you running out here you better be dressed properly or I'm beating your ass!" Ms. Nishikawa yelled. Deku just smiled and shook his head. "You always say that." He whispered to himself as he continued his run.

The greenette pulled his phone out of his pocket in order to check the time. 'He should be out soon.' Deku thought as he put his phone back into his pocket and started jogging slower.
