It was currently lunchtime at U.A. and instead of eating the school's lunch in the cafeteria most of the students were gathered around the bulletin board in the hallway, waiting for the piece of paper that determines whether or not they made the baseball team.
The group of kids that had been talking to each other in nervous anticipation suddenly went quiet when a member of the student council walked up to the board. The girl took the sheet of paper and stapled it to the bulletin board. She then turned around and flinched back slightly at all the intense stares she was receiving.
She quickly moved away from the board and as soon as she did the crowd of teens rushed over to the bulletin board. Everyone pushed and shoved at each other to reach the front and find their name on the piece of paper.
Monoma who was already at the front of the crowd ignored the constant shoving and shuffling behind him as he stood his ground in order to read all the names on the list.
"Well, that's unexpected." Monoma said to himself and a slight smirk appeared on his face as he stared at the names on the paper.
"Move it extras!" Bakugou yelled as he pushed someone's face away so he could make it to the front of the crowd. Sero and Kirishima followed close behind him. When they made it to the front Bakugou quickly darted his eyes across the sheet trying to find his name.
'Please be there! Please be there! Please be there! Where is it!? Where is it!? Where-'
"DUDE!" Kirishima shouted as he shook the blonde's shoulder. "You made the team!" Kirishima exclaimed. "I knew you could do it man!" Sero cheered as he playfully punched the boy's shoulder. "I guess all our after school practices really paid off, huh!?" Kirishima said and nudged the blonde's shoulder. "Yeah..." Bakugou breathed out as he continued to stare in awe at his name printed on the paper.
'I did it gramps!' Bakugou thought as he smiled softly at the board.
"Well, Bakugou..." The three teens turned their heads to see Monoma and Shoda walking over to them. "I guess congratulations are in order. I honestly didn't think you would make it after what happened at the start of tryouts." Monoma said.
"Yeah well, I guess he realized how great I am after all." Bakugou boasted causing Kirishima and Sero to share a look with each other and jokingly roll their eyes at their friend.
"Careful now that overconfidence almost cost you a spot on the team remember?" Monoma told him. "Ha, I think you're the one who should be fucking careful. I will be taking that ace position right from under you." Bakugou had an arrogant look on his face as he challenged the teen. Monoma's smirk twitch slightly as his eyes narrowed.
Not wanting anything to do with the newfound tension in the air, Shoda looked at Sero and Kirishima. "Uh, c-congratulations on making the team again Sero!" Shoda congratulated the boy. "Oh thanks, it wasn't that hard." Sero bragged and laughed when Kirishima elbowed his arm.
"And congratulations to you as well Kirishima!" Shoda said to the boy. "Haha, thanks man!" Kirishima laughed out. The boy then paused and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he thought about what the shorter teen had just said to him.
"Wait what did you say!?" Kirishima exclaimed and quickly went to look at the paper again. His eyes widened when he saw his name written down.
"How did that even happen?" Sero questioned when he looked at the boy's name as well. "I don't know man! I never even tried out for the team!" Kirishima shouted still in disbelief on his name being on the list.
"Bakugou! Kirishima!" Both boys turned their heads when they heard a gruff voice call out to them. Coach Todoroki walked over to the group of teens and stopped in front of the two boys.
