"So Izuku." Masaru said causing the boy to look away from his plate and look up at the man. "I'm not that into sports but what's playing baseball like? Are you the captain?" Masaru questioned. "Ha, umm, well... only the seniors get to be the captains but people do tend to listen to me more since I'm the ace." Izuku told him only really answering the second part of his question.
"Oh yeah, Inko did mention that. But what does an ace mean exactly? Are you really good at the game or something?" Mitsuki asked. "Well, I'm not that good. There are definitely people who are way better than me." Izuku said with a small smile as he rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. Katsuki rolled his eyes and frowned at the boy before taking his chopsticks and eating some sushi.
"He's just being modest. After all, being the ace means he's the best player on their team!" Inko said and ruffled the boy's hair making the teen giggle. "Haha, mooom!" Izuku giggled out as he pushed his mother's hand away and blushed slightly from embarrassment.
Katsuki looked down and used his hand to cover his face in order to hide the blush that appeared on his cheeks after hearing Izuku laugh for the first time. While looking away from the other teen Katsuki noticed the dog, lying down near the table, staring at him.
Katsuki cut a small piece of cooked salmon from his plate and gently tossed it at the dog. The dog didn't move to catch the food and instead let the salmon bounce off his nose before hitting the ground. The Shiba Inu then bared its teeth and snarled quietly at the blonde.
While Katsuki was messing with Hiro the adults and Izuku continued with their conversation.
"Oh, Izuku." Mitsuki said gaining the boy's attention as he tried to fix his hair. "Inko told me that you're top of your class. How do you manage to keep up with your studies while playing a sport, I heard that it's really challenging for most kids and that their grades tend to drop since they aren't focusing enough on their school work." Mitsuki said to him.
"Umm well, I guess it is kinda hard for some people especially since having a C- or lower in any class will get you benched but my friends and I usually study while we practice at the batting cages and when we take a break we just do our homework." Izuku explained. "Ha, yeah the batting cage is basically their second home! I rarely see him over here!" Inko joked making the others laugh and Izuku just smiled.
'Why the hell does this dog hate me so much?' Katsuki thought as he turned his attention back to the conversation just in time to hear Izuku talk about the batting cages.
"Speaking of the batting cage the last time I went there I could have sworn I saw someone that looked just like your son." Izuku said with a slight smirk on his face as he looked over at Katsuki whose eyes widened before narrowing into a glare.
"Really?" Mitsuki said causing the curly-haired boy to nod his head. "Yeah, they had the same blonde porcupine hair and everything. But it probably wasn't him though seeing as you guys just moved to town and all." Izuku said just wanting to tease the other teen and give him a little scare.
"Oh, you hear that Kat your doppelgänger probably lives here. Try not to bump into them." Masaru joked causing everyone at the table, except Katsuki, to laugh.
Katsuki's glare at the boy turned into a smug smile as he thought of an idea. "Actually that was me." Katsuki said to the group. "It was?" Mitsuki, Masaru, and Izuku all questioned. Izuku looked at the teen questionably while Katsuki just smirked back at him.
"What were you doing over there?" Mitsuki asked her son. "Well, some kids from school showed me around town and brought me over there since baseball is like this really big deal in town apparently." Katsuki quickly lied. "But when I was there I saw your son getting yelled at by the owner." Katsuki said causing Izuku's eyes to widened as he realized what the boy was doing.
