-Looooong chapter-
——————————————————————Bakugou quickly made it down to the field and threw his belongings onto the ground near the dugout before lining up with everyone else. He took in a deep breath as he got in the line trying to calm his nerves.
Sero, who happened to be standing next to him, noticed what the boy was doing and smiled. "You nervous man?" Sero asked him. "Tch, no. Why the hell would I be?" Bakugou said as he glared at the teen.
"I mean this is your first time trying out and you've never played on a team before, right? So it makes sense if you're feeling a bit anxious. But don't worry man I got your back I'll make sure we both make the cut." Sero said with a smile as he gently nudged the blonde's arm causing the teen to smile slightly.
"Ha, I can't take you seriously when you're wearing that." Bakugou snickered out causing Sero to look down at his bright yellow rain poncho. "Hey man, I'm not taking any chances today!" Sero said in his defense causing the two to chuckle lightly together.
"Alright rookies!" The coach yelled quickly gaining everyone's attention. "The reason why you all are here right now is because you think that you actually have a chance at making this team! And I'm here today to tell some of you that you don't stand a chance." Coach Todoroki yelled and slowly began to walk down the row of teens.
"I've seen it all before. You think that you're capable enough because you can run faster than most." Enji Todoroki said as he looked over at Iida causing the boy's stance to stiffen as he sweated slightly.
"Or that because of your social status you believe that you can easily secure a spot." Enji said and looked over at Camie who was busy texting on her phone. Momo gently shoved the girl's arm making Camie scrunch her eyebrows and look up at her with an annoyed face. Momo discreetly nodded her head forward silently telling the brunette to pay attention. Camie rolled her eyes before reluctantly putting her phone in her pocket and bringing her attention to the coach.
"And even, when someone tells you that you have a real gift when in reality you're no better than the person standing next to you." Enji said and looked directly at Bakugou. Bakugou's body tensed up and he stole a glance over at Sero who nervously glanced back at him.
Enji stopped walking down the line and turned to face the group of teens before speaking. "Well, I got news for all of you rookies!" Enji began to say. "Half of you won't have the guts to come back here tomorrow. And for those of you who do have a spine and end up coming back, you'll eventually give up too. But if by some miracle you manage to make it through the whole week just remember that only fifteen of you will actually end up on the team. And of those fifteen nine of you are going to be starters." Enji told them.
"With that being said..." The man said before grabbing his whistle around his neck and blowing into it causing all the kids to flinch. "Give me five laps!" Coach Todoroki yelled and watched as the teens scurried away to the outline of the field and began running.
"That was-" "Scary? Terrifying? Made you pee a little?" Sero said cutting off whatever Bakugou's sentence was.
"...I was going to say intimidating." Bakugou told the teen. "Oh yeah, that too." Sero nodded his head and said which made Bakugou smile slightly as he shook his head at his friend.
"You guys shouldn't be talking." A monotoned voice had said. Both boys turned their heads slightly to the side in order to see who the voice belongs to. The owner of the voice happened to be Shoto Todoroki who was running slightly behind the two.
"Oh, H-hey Todoroki! I didn't see you there!" Sero said as he smiled nervously at the heterochromatic boy. "Sero, you know he takes off points for talking." Todoroki glanced at the boy and said.
