The 99 were in Los Angeles to attend the funeral of their previous captain; McGintley.

"Oh, man. Sad day. Sad day," Jake sighed as he looked at the photo board in McGinley's honor.

"It's crazy how different things were when McGintley was Captain. It was like the Wild West," Amy chuckled.

Jake nodded with a smile. "Oh, yeah, we had some fun."

"I didn't," She frowned, "In every one of those photos, I look uptight and worried. Meanwhile, everyone else looks like they're having the time of their life."

"That's because they're all stress-free," Hitchcock explained, "Not like us Type A's."

"Hitchcock, take your pasty legs that should never be in shorts again and go over to the buffet table before I put your head in that turkey," Natasha threatened, "And never group yourself with Amy ever again."

Amy gave her a grateful look, she just couldn't threaten people the way Natasha could.

"Anyway, now that I've done my nice thing of the day I'm going to go treat myself to making fun of the ugly criers," Natasha grinned as she looked around the hall.

"Tasha!" Amy scolded her like a child.

"What? I'm not going to do it to their faces," She defended before she walked away.

"I'm going to go make sure she actually doesn't do it to their faces," Adam sighed as he pressed a kiss to Amy's temple before following after his best friend.

Amy turned to Jake with a distressed frown. "Jake, am I too high-strung?"

Jake paused, not wanting to hurt her feelings. "...I wouldn't say you're too high-strung. You just are high-strung. You know, your strung is what makes you strung. You're strung strongly," He blurted out nervously.

Since Natasha and Adam were best friends, Amy and Jake found themselves spending more time together and bonding as friends. They tended to go to each other for advice now.

Amy realized he was trying not to hurt her feelings without lying to her. She huffed. "No, not anymore. From now on, I'm gonna be super chill. So, where's the party at? Trick question. The party's right here, boy!" She sang before her eyes widened in embarrassment, "Oh, hello, Mrs. McGintley. My condolences for your loss."

Jake grimaced at the awkward encounter and quickly pulled Amy away, going over to Raymond.

"Thank you," She mumbled gratefully, still feeling Mrs. McGintley's glare on her.

"Don't mention it, Ames," Jake patted her shoulder, "I mean seriously, don't."

Meanwhile, Natasha had managed to lose Adam in the crowd and smiled at being able to do as she pleased. She decided to see if Rosa wanted to join her but she didn't have to look for long since Rosa seemed to be looking for her too.
