Loki - Four Part 2 - Angst? Fluff? It's not really angst or fluff but in between

A year had gone by. Y/N had a new apartment and spent most of her time working. When she wasn't on missions with Bucky and Sam, she was in her cozy apartment reading. She had tried going on dates and both Sam and Bucky set her up on but to no avail.

They never turned out more than dinner, drinks, and the occasional one night stand. In a year she had only slept with a few. Four to be exact. She hated that number. Every now and then she would have to go to the compound but she would never see Loki. She never walked through the doors. She had become close with Sarah and now is her number one babysitter for date nights with Bucky. Yes, number one over Sam, and Y/N rubs it in his face. Right now she was out getting coffee with Bucky who was talking but she wasn't really listening. Staring out at the rain.

"Earth to Y/N..." Bucky then snapped his fingers in her face. He chuckled when she jumped.

"S-Sorry..." She fiddled with her cup. Bucky's smile dropped when she kept avoiding eye contact with him.

"Don't apologize... what were you thinking about?" Bucky asked. "I mean I know you love the rain but..."

"Actually... Four years ago, ya know before Loki, I had always hated the rain... but on our second date, he set up a picnic... it began to down pour and instead of hiding under the tree like sane people, he used his magic to have music playing. He danced with me and kissed me. He made the rain incredibly romantic and beautiful to me. Somehow, I still see the rain this way even though I don't see love the same way anymore..." Bucky sat there and scoffed.

"I can't believe it. No wonder dating didn't work..." she looked up at him. "After all he has done you are still in love with him." Thunder boomed in the sky as tears spilled from her eyes in realization. Bucky took her hand and squeezed it.

"I..." Bucky sighed squeezing her hand again

"It's ok to still love him. It doesn't mean that you are pathetic or anything. It just means that he has your heart." She chuckles at him, a few sniffles escape her.

"Sarah has made you a softie and a bit of a romantic." Bucky chuckles.

"I just want you to protect your heart. Maybe start by actually stepping foot into the compound?" She groans but nods her head.

"Cool. Let's go. It's movie night tonight and Sarah can't come." Bucky smirks at her, making her groan again.

"You just didn't wanna sit next to Sam again..."

"Hey come on! This way you can see Loki under the prefix of saving me from Sam."

"I don't know if I even want to see him or anything... I still love him but..." She looks up to see Bucky's puppy eyes. "Ok that's creepy. Will you cut that out if I go?"

"Yes."

"Fine." They pay for their coffees and then Bucky drags her to the compound. Bucky of course letting Sam know she was coming.

"Brother you need to at least try them!" Thor says shoving a pop tart in Loki's face. He looked more fit but thinner too. He rolled his eyes and put his head down on the table. "Loki come on... we are playing a game of drink during the movie. You have to eat."

"Wait... you actually convinced... dude how?!" Sam shouts into his phone. Loki rolled his eyes.

"I'm not doing this movie night. Now get that stupid pop tart out of my face!" Loki snarled.

"Dude I wanna know how you convinced her! Man imma tell Wanda!" Sam hangs up the phone excitedly as Thor and Loki look at him curiously.

"Bird man what are you so excited about?" Thor asked with a mouth full of pop tarts.
