Title: Good Enough

Pairing: Loki x Reader

Summary: Y/n is a super soldier and grew up with Steve and Bucky. She and Loki were in a year long relationship. Loki gets scared that he isn't enough for her so he breaks up with her so she can find someone better. Thor begins to think Buck and Y/n are dating. What will happen when Loki realizes what's actually going on?

"She's what?" Loki whimpered out.

"She's... she's dating the soldier of winter brother..." Thor told Loki solemnly. Loki nodded and cleared his throat.

"Right we'll... why would I care? I dumped her." Loki then stormed past his brother.

- 3 months ago -

"You what?" Y/N's heart broken face staring back at him was dwindling his resolve.

"I never loved you. You were just a decent lay." Loki stated. Y/n wiped her tears and shot up. The anger in her voice made him flinch.

"Get the fuck out. I hope you got what you wanted." Loki bowed his head and left to be met with Thor waiting for him.

"Brother why would you do this? She made you so happy..." Loki looked at his brother teary eyed.

"She deserves better than me. I'm not good enough for her"

Loki enters the party and sees Y/n at the bar. Bucky walks up to her and puts his arm around her shoulders. Loki quickly moves as far away from them as possible. What he doesn't see is how miserable Y/n is.

"Doll come dance with me and Stevie. I had to literally drag you out of your room. It will just be like in the forties!" Bucky says.

"No I'm fine just drinking my sorrows away." Bucky chuckles.

"Doll you can't get drunk off of our alcohol." He states.

"Buck leave the princess alone." Y/n chuckles at Steve's attempts to get Bucky to back off. "Come dance with me."

"But..." Bucky starts.

"Go and dance with your loving boyfriend. He needs you and for more than just a decent fuck." Y/n downed another shot and then took a bottle of liquor from the bar. She stormed off to the balcony not realizing the bottle she took was Asgardian liquor.

"What in the Norns..." Loki growled as he watched Bucky tenderly kiss Steve as they slow danced. He looked at the spot that Y/n was sitting at to find her gone. Loki stormed up to Steve and Bucky. "What do you think you are doing?! You have a beautiful woman and you're cheating on her?!"

"What? Who y/n?" Bucky asked. He looked at Steve confused.

"Do we need to have a talk or something?" Steve asked Bucky jokingly.

"Loki I am not dating Y/n. She's our best friend." Bucky explained.

"Lies! Thor said..." Loki started.

"Listen here. Steve was out on a 3 month mission and my best friend has been heart broken. So of course I hold her and make sure she is taking care of herself. You broke up with her and told her that all she was for you was a decent lay." Bucky then got in the God's face. "She is completely broken. I had to drag her out here to the party. You completely broke her and think you have a right to protect her?"

"Buck... calm down..." Steve states as Loki takes a few steps back. Tears welling in his eyes.

"No he needs to hear how she stopped eating for a week and a half. How she is terrified to come out of her room to see this ass with someone else. How I had to drag her out for her to only drink on the balcony alone. The fact that she is still completely in love with a guy like you who only wanted her for a decent fuck for a year." Loki had tears streaming down his face as Bucky turned to him at the last sentence.

"W-What have I done..." Loki muttered to himself just before he took off for the balcony. Bucky was about to stop him when Steve pulled Bucky to him.

"I think we should let them work it out." Bucky gives Steve a small smile.

"Alright but I get first dibs on killing him if he hurts her again." Bucky states and Steve chuckled in agreement.

Y/n chuckled at herself when she felt tipsy and read the label on the bottle.

"Well Asgardian liquor gets me tipsy." She slowly began to feel herself sobering up and chuckled. "Just not for long.... At least I got to feel numb for a little bit...." Y/n then looked up at the sky and began to silently shed tears.

"Come on... stop crying you moron... he's finding another person to fuck... he told you... he doesn't love you... I mean how could he? You never were able to be loved and he knew that..." She grumbled to herself.

- 6 months ago-

"Loki come on you don't want to hear about that. I'm happy now with you. Let's not talk about it ok?" Y/n gave Loki her best puppy dog eyes.

"Normally those would work on me my darling but if you tell me, I may be able to ease any future worries like you had out there." Loki stated in a teasing tone as he pulled her closer to him. Y/N's eyes teared up as she shook her head.

"I don't want to upset you." Loki's eyebrows furrowed at that statement. Loki sat down and pulled her onto his lap.

"You won't... I promise my dove." Loki said as he brushed a hair behind her ear. "Now tell me why you got upset and left while I spoke with Lady Wanda?"

"Because I'm not good enough... I'm not good enough for anyone..." Loki's jaw clenched. "People only want to fuck me no one wants to stay with me..."

"Who made you feel this way?" Loki growled as he pulled her closer. "I will teach them all a valuable lesson."

"L-Loki.... You don't have to..." Loki captured Y/N's lips.

"You are mine now and I will never let you go."

Y/n was taking another swig of the Asgardian liquor as Loki walked onto the balcony. His breath hitched and was about to turn around when she began to cry.

"None of the others hit me this hard... I truly love him... why am I not good enough for him?" Loki quickly bolted to Y/n and cupped her face in his hands.

"That's not true... I'm sorry... I'm so so so sorry my dove." Y/N's eyes widened as Loki's tears fell onto her face. "I lied... I lied and hurt you... I wanted to... I'm sorry... please don't think this way..."

"Loki..." Y/n whimpered out. All she could do was reach up, wipe his tears away, and give him a smile that showed him how happy and hurt she was to see him.

"I should've never done this to you... never! You are perfect my dove. Absolutely perfect in every way in my eyes! I... I..." Loki then cursed himself for fumbling over his words when he was trying to explain himself. "You are more than good enough for me... it is I who isn't good enough for you."

"You fool of a man, all I want is you!" She clung to Loki, buried her face in his chest, and began sobbing uncontrollably. Loki wrapped his arms around her protectively as she continued to cry. Y/n was terrified to let go, as was Loki. "I love you Loki... I truly love you."

"Oh my darling I love you too. I will prove it to you for the rest of our days together." Loki captured her lips in a desperate kiss and he did prove his love to her every day for the rest of his life.
