Loki - Clingy Part 1 - Angst

-LOKI POV-

Y/n opened up to me not long ago that she is a clingy person. PDA, hugs, kisses, all of it. She also told me about how people always have gotten annoyed with her because of it. Friends, family, exes, etc. She has always been this way. Me on the other hand never minded her clingy ways. Always has made me feel loved. She gets insecure about it sometimes and normally I just sit her on my lap and kiss her forehead.

That being said I know I'm in a horrible mood today. I haven't seen Y/n in over a week, the mission was an utter failure, Stark and his crew blame me for its failure, and to top it all off they are teasing me about playing into Y/N's clinginess.

"Mischief Managed. That's what her new nick name is since she seems to be the only one to tame you." Stark said. "Who knew that you had a heart. So much so you let the perp go!"

"Man of Iron I suggest you knock it off." Thor said.

"What? He did. And now we have got to relocate her." Stark said angrily. "All because she gave Reindeer Games some sob story!"

"I'm with Tony on this one. It took us months to figure out where this perp was hiding. They have government information that Hydra would love to get their hands on. If we don't catch her they will." Steve joined in.

"My friends stop. No one here has had all perfect missions. May I remind you of Ultron or everything with Thanos? If it weren't for my brother destroying the time stone when that strange man wouldn't half of us would be dust. So knock it off."  Thor stated. The rest of the ride home was silent. When we got back there was Y/n, anxiously tapping her foot. She saw us and immediately jumped into my arms. I smiled and hugged her.

"See? Mischief managed." Tony said in passing causing me to tense.

-YOUR POV-

"Loki? Are you ok?" I asked. Like always he kisses my forehead but he doesn't reassure me. He even let go of me and walked away. I could feel myself getting teary eyed as I stood there. Natasha and Yelena came up to me and hugged me tightly, reassuring me that it was just a tough mission. I really hate being so sensitive but I have my friends who offered to watch my favorite movie. I wanted to chase after Loki first to see if he was ok. To which they agreed and let go to get us some snacks and drinks.

"Loki?" I call out as I enter our shared apartment in the tower. I find Loki making tea in our kitchen. "My Love... Nat, Yelena, and I are going to watch a movie and I was wanting to..."

"What? Have me join in? Can't you see I'm tired from the mission?" He snarled. My heart dropped. He sounded angry and tired. Maybe I should have given him space after all. I went up to him and began to rub his back, trying to comfort him.

"I-I'm sorry I d-didn't mean..." He quickly jerks away from me and sighs angrily. What he said next really shattered my heart.

"Norns Y/n you are just so fucking clingy! Why do you have to be so infuriating?!" I couldn't stop my tears from falling from my eyes as I slowly backed away. I didn't look Loki in the eyes, I just saw his hand reach out to me.

-LOKI POV-

What did I just do? Why did I say that? She was just worried about me and I took all my anger at Stark out on her. She wouldn't look at me but I saw it... the heartbreak and tears.

"D-Darling I'm... I'm so sorry... I didn't mean that I swear it. I didn't mean to take my anger with stark out on you..." she quickly wiped her tears away and plastered on a smile.

"I-I-It's ok Loki. You're tired. Why don't you rest, yeah?" She hesitated before taking a step towards me and kissing my cheek. Normally she would offer to stay and cuddle me but I see her fighting back her tears.

"I would a-actually like to watch the movie with you guys. I-Is that offer still on the table?" She slowly nodded her head. "Alright wait here and I'll change ok?" Again she just slowly nodded her head and picked at her hands. I left to change quickly so we could watch the movie together.

"You actually came out! I made the macaroni and cheese with hot sauce." Yelena state proudly. Y/n perked up a bit and walked over to Yelena.

"Siracha right?" She asked meekly.

"Of course! Are you alright?" Yelena looked at me and back at Y/n who, instead of hugging her friend, was picking at her hands again.

"Yeah... um... I'll make the popcorn." She quickly busied herself with the task and Yelena looked at me as she stirred the macaroni.

"I got all the drinks set up and..." Natasha started and then stared at the scene in front of her. She looked at me and gave me a sad smile, as if she already had an idea of what transpired. Natasha walked up to me and whispered, "Forgive yourself and make it up to her."

We were all sitting and watching the movie but I kept checking on her silently. She was constantly picking at her hands. This was something I never have seen her do but Yelena and Natasha clearly have. Yelena quickly grabbed her hand and squeezed it. Y/n sighed in relief taking her friend's hand. I wanted to pull her close to me and have her on my lap as she played with my hair like normal but every time I moved she scooted away. The pain in my chest kept growing and neediness I held for her grew too.

When the movie was over I watched her quickly stand up and start cleaning. I grabbed her wrist gently and she stiffened under my touch. I sighed and let go only to see her heart break more. She quickly left the room and I felt tears prick my eyes. She changed because of what I said. I look towards Natasha and Yelena who both had sad smiles on their faces.

"You need to go to her and hold her close." Natasha stated. "Reassure her that she doesn't need to change for you to love her."

"Lots of people have left her because of how she expresses her love and care for others. She's worried you are going to leave too." I sighed.

"I already broke her heart... I don't want to say or do the wrong thing to further that feeling for her..."
