Bucky - You Deserve Better Than Him Part 1

-Your POV-

"Loki!" I shout as my best friend and brother throws me over his shoulder after making sure my hair is brushed and I'm decent and storms into the kitchen at the compound.

"You are not staying in bed all day darling." He scoffs at my feeble attempts to wiggle out from his grip. "Besides, don't you have a date with the captain tonight?" Loki sets me down on the counter and begins to make breakfast.

"I was sleeping in you asshole. I wasn't going to stay in bed all day Lokes." He rolls his eyes as the bacon begins to sizzle. "And yes... we do have a date tonight."

"Can't believe you fell for that mortal in particular. I don't trust him." It was my turn to roll my eyes.

"It's not his fault that he had to stop you from ruling the world. Even though it wasn't really you, he still had to stop you. Wouldn't you protect me and Asgard from him if rolls were reversed?" Loki tensed slightly but then relaxed a little.

"Fair point but that's not why I don't trust him... I can't put my finger on it but..." I interrupt Loki by jumping down from the counter and running to my boyfriend, Captain Steve Rogers.

"Hey Stevie!" I cheer as he chuckles kissing the top of my head as we embrace. "I feel like it's been ages since I have seen you. Have a lot of missions lately? Are we still on for tonight?"

"Tonight?" Steve asks and I try not to show the slight falter in my features but then Steve sighs. "I'm sorry... I have Uh... another mission." I cross my arms and pout a little.

"But... ok... I understand... do you know when you will be free? I really miss you..." Steve pulls me into his chest.

"I know. I'm sorry... I swear I will make it up to you tomorrow night. But duty calls." He kissed my lips tenderly before walking to his room. I turn to see my brother and now Bucky in the kitchen staring at me.

"Joining us for breakfast Buck? I haven't seen you in a while either!" I plaster my best fake smile and try to sound as cheerful as possible. Both of their faces soften.

"Sure thing doll. Whatever you want."

-Bucky's POV-

"I make you bacon and only bacon because you are picky as hell and you won't even eat that?!" Loki chides at his sister. She giggles, clearly proud of herself for successfully annoying her older brother. I frequently get mornings like this with them and I find myself thinking how much of a fool Steve is for missing out. Y/N really comes to life around her brothers, especially Loki. Her smile is contagious. As I listen to her giggle I can't stop the smile.

"Hey your smiling! I succeed on multiple levels now!" She cheers. The fake smile she had is gone and Loki sighs.

"Yes yes you have successfully made the soldier smile and annoyed me. Now eat." Loki scolds.

"Ok!" She then begins to eat and I chuckle. "So Stevie has a lot of missions these days, huh?" My eyes widen.

"Missions?" I honestly didn't know. "I know he has been at SHIELD a lot but we normally do missions together."

"Miss Y/N... Mr. Rogers wanted to inform you that he has left for his mission. He believes to return tomorrow." I saw it. Right as her face dropped. Her heart had clearly sank. Steve didn't even come say goodbye to her? He has been telling her that he has been on missions? What is he doing?

"Darling, I suggest we go to SHIELD." I look at Loki and he is seething.

"N-N-No it's fine..." She wiped tears from her eyes and tried giving us a smile. "I don't think I can face it just yet." The tears I saw and how I saw her heart shatter when she realized what was happening I slammed my metal hand on the table.
