Loki - Break Up

"I don't love you anymore." Loki stated and Y/n burst into laughter. Loki was shocked by this reaction as she had been trying to cling to him ever since he returned from Midgard with Thor. She and his mother fought for him to not be locked away and Loki knew he was hurting her.

"I know considering you forgot our anniversary." Loki's eyes widened, he truly forgot. Y/n then waived her hand and held the tesseract. "This is what you love. I don't know what you are up to but I hope it keeps you warm at night." She tossed it to Loki who looked heartbroken. This thing wasn't what he loved. He did love Y/n but he had to protect her from Thanos. He had to protect her from Odin. He just had to protect her. But he was glad. He was glad for her hatred of him, even if it tore him apart.

"My sons. I have grave news." Odin stated as Thor and Loki walked into the throne room. The ether was properly sent off to a safe location and Frigga was healing from her wound. She was only grazed thanks to Y/n. Since the day Loki and Y/n ended things, Loki has not seen or heard from her. It hurt him but he understood why.

"What news father?" Thor asked.

"Seems Lady Y/n has not been well." Loki looked up at the Allfather in grave fear. "She hasn't been since you fell from the Bifrost Loki." Odin sat on the throne.

"The healers tell me she doesn't sleep much. When she thinks to be alone she weeps." Loki bowed his head. "The woman works herself to death and is the reason your mother is alive so I owe her, this kingdom owes her, a great debt."

"What do you mean Father? She wasn't there when I arrived to Mother..." Thor then trailed off for a moment. "That trail of blood."

"Yes. She is still refusing treatment. I need you both, as her friend and..." Odin looks at Loki. "Whatever you two were, to convince her to save her own life." Loki quickly stormed off to the healers ward without hearing another word.

"Miss please eat..." The healer Eira begged Y/n. Y/n shook her head no.

"I'm not hungry." Y/n muttered.

"You haven't eaten in days... will you at least let me clean your wound?" Eira asked. Y/n was about to tell Eira no when Loki burst through the doors.

"She will let you. Go get your supplies." The prince growled. Eira nodded and quickly left.

"Go away." Y/n growled at Loki.

"No." He said through his teeth.

"You have no fucking right to be here. You have no fucking right to..." She stopped as Loki stalked over to her.

"I am a prince of Asgard. I have every right to do what I..." Loki stopped as the tears were freely falling down Y/N's face.

"You don't get to shatter me and then make demands that determine my well being when you know nothing of my condition." Loki's resolve faltered. "NOW GET OUT!"

— 3 Days Later —

"She's healing well now." Frigga stated as she walked over to him. Frigga now needed a cane to walk so Loki hurriedly got up to help his mother.

"That's good to hear." He said in the most stoic voice he could muster.

"She's been doing much better since your visit." Frigga states.

"I don't know what you mean. I'm forbidden to enter the healing wards now unless I am wounded or she leaves. My visit only hindered her." Loki says.

"My son... Y/n loves you with her entire being. When you fell from the Bifrost it took months for her to leave her chambers." Loki bowed his head. "Once she heard about Midgard, she conducted a spell to experience what you went through with Thanos in order to set you free."

"She what?" Loki looked at his mother and she smiled at her son sadly.

"You didn't hurt her until you chose the tesseract over her." Frigga stated. "She has been spending her days preparing for when Thanos comes. To protect you."

"But..." Loki started.

"Go see her Brother." Thor said as he approached. "We know that you didn't really choose the tesseract over her but you are only hurting each other the longer you are apart."

"She won't..."

"My son, I have already spoken to Eira. You will be let in."

"Eira leave me be." Y/n stated as she looked out her window. "I'm fine. I already promised I would ring you before I..." Y/n turned her head to see Loki standing in the doorway. Y/n sighed.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you earlier Lo... my prince. It won't happen again." Y/n stated formally.

"Please... Loki is fine..." Loki mumbled. Loki then studied his love's features. She was definitely smaller than she used to be but no where near skin and bones. Her eyes were sunken and swollen from crying. Her mid section was bandaged up from the wound she took in order to protect Frigga, his mother. Then he remembered everything his mother told him as he knelt in front of her.

"Loki I..." She trailed off as Loki started to bawling his eyes out.

"You got hurt... protecting me... my mother... after everything you even got me out of the dungeons and put yourself through my torture just to help me..." y/n just stared at the god in front of her wide eyed. "I never ever in the nine realms could pick the tesseract before you! I wanted to protect you! I didn't... I didn't want you to continue being hurt by me. I wanted to protect you from Thanos. I wanted to protect you from Odin's ridicule... I..."

"You fool of a man." Y/n said through her tears. Loki looked up. "You forgot our anniversary worrying about such trivial things... I clearly have no life without you... I understand you wanted to protect me but you... you left... you forgot... you... shattered... me... and now... I'll never be the same nor can I give..."

"My darling..." Y/n started removing her bandage and the wound was huge but it's placement is what got his attention.

"They had to...." She whimpered and then cleared her throat. "I can't have children. Ever. There's no chance in the galaxy. They had to take out...." Before finishing her sentence, she rewrapped the bandage and looked away from Loki. Loki knew why she was so upset. When they were just friends, all she could talk about was being a mother some day.

When Loki found out about his true heritage and was afraid he couldn't give her children she stated that she didn't need children if it meant she couldn't have them with Loki. So Loki did research until he found ways for a safe pregnancy and delivery. He presented this new information to her and she cried. Telling him she didn't mean to make him feel bad. Loki remembered laughing and proposing to her that moment. But he messed up their engagement by doing what he did.

"My love..." Loki said comfortingly. "This doesn't change a thing for me...."

"You said you don't love me anymore..." Y/n reminded him in a cold tone that made him flinch. "I.." Loki silenced her with a kiss that made her smile.

"Please believe me when I say I didn't mean it... please..." Y/n nodded at him. Loki then stood up and kissed her forehead. "I love you more than anything my little warrior. I promise to spend the rest of our lives proving that to you."

—3 months later—

Y/n had a cane and was walking around slowly. She smiled up at Loki and then looked down at her hand that had her engagement ring back on her finger. 

"Only two more weeks with this stupid cane. I feel like an old lady...." Y/n groans as she finally sits down.

"Well if you are an old lady then you are sexiest old lady in all the nine realms..." Loki whispered and it caused Y/n  to giggle.

"Weirdo." Loki chuckled at that and kissed her lips.

"I love you."

"I love you too."
