"Y/N darling, I'm..." Loki entered his chambers that he shared with his wife to find it empty except for Loki's favorite dessert on the table, rose petals scattered across the room, and candles that were clearly lit for a long time but now aren't and the wax had long since dried. "D-Darling?" Loki frantically looked around the chambers to not find his wife anywhere. Panic began to set in on the young prince, he had been very busy with his father's council which left very little time for he and his wife and he clearly forgot something coming home so late, something important. A maid then walked in and gasped to see the young prince there in the chambers.

"My apologies your majesty, I was told no one would be here. I will come back to clean later." The maid bowed and went to leave to only be stopped by Loki's voice.

"Clean? Why would you need to clean this up?" The maid turned around and gave Loki a sad look.

"The princess asked me to clean up from the activities of a uncelebrated wedding anniversary your majesty. Her words." The maid then left as Loki leaned against the wall and slumped down. How could he forget something so important? He looked around and then at the clock as it struck midnight. He missed their entire anniversary. Not even notes of affection did he send to her while working with his oaf of a brother and brute of a father all day and night. She has always been nothing but understanding of his late nights and barely seeing him sometimes during the week. She never complained and she always had something to eat waiting for him so he wouldn't go to bed hungry. Not only that, she would wait up so Loki wouldn't be eating alone.

"How could I have forgotten?" Loki reminisced about their wedding day. How beautiful she looked, how happy she was, how passionate their wedding night was. Their wedding was five years ago today, well now yesterday. He thought about all the times she defended and stood up for him from when they were just friends as children to her as his fiancé after returning home from trying to take over New York. Then he thought about how lonely and hurt she must have been for that two year engagement, a time that she never blamed him for. But this, this she will definitely blame him for. He is pulled from his thoughts when Y/N walks in and looks around.

"She d-didn't clean?" She asked herself. Loki was kind of hidden away from her sight. "I gotta clean up..." As she starts to clean she jumps in shock at Loki's voice.

"Please don't..." Loki stands and his heart shatters to see her tear stained face. He feels tears roll down his cheeks as he walks to her and pulls her close. Out of everything that he has done in life, making her cry was by far the worst in his opinion.

"L-Loki it's ok... I promise... I swear it was just to..." She was cut off by Loki's voice.

"Don't lie to me to make me feel better Darling. It's alright to be angry with me." She fought back tears and just lightly clutched her chest. "I forgot our special day. After everything you have done for me and continue to do for me, you should be angry at me. You tried to clean up before I got home after all the work you put into this just so I wouldn't feel bad... Please... I'm so so so sorry. The Norns don't even know how sorry I am." She turned her back to him. Still clutching her chest, she walked out of their chambers. She did feel angry and hurt but she didn't want to put it into words. She never was good about speaking her feelings. Sure it was a little easier with Loki but somewhere down the line she learned to keep her mouth shut even when it came to him.

"Lady Y/N!" Thor cheered. "How are you..." He was cut off by the deathly glare she shot to him and Odin as tears streamed down her face and continued to walk. She had no idea of where she was going but she knew she needed to get away from the palace. She heard Loki calling after her and teleported away.

"Brother what happened? I don't think I have seen so much anger in her eyes ever." Thor looked at Loki to only go wide eyed. Loki's face had tears openly running down them. His normally over confident demeanor was slumped over and vulnerable in front of the two people he would not want to see at this moment.
