"Lady Y/N! It's nice for you to join us in the merriment for once! Were you mapping out our next adventure." Y/N chuckles as Thor slaps her shoulder. She used to stumble forward and spill her wine but now she is holding steady.

"Uh actually... I had a date... for once." She said bashfully. Loki shot his head up. It was thanks to Y/N that he didn't end up in the dungeons. It was thanks to Y/N Frigga was still alive. Finally, it was thanks to Y/N that their missions went so well. She has always worked hard, ever since they were children.

"Wait... you had a date and didn't tell me?!" Sif asked a little offended.

"Well... y-yeah... but as I expected it didn't go well so hear I am." Y/N downs her wine and quickly gets up to avoid the conversation to refill it.

"Fandral do you..." Volstagg started.

"You really think my little sister will tell me anything?" The group looks at him and he sighs. "She went out with Arnell. One of the royal guards. He is a notorious play boy, but no where as successful as me. I still cannot believe she went out with him. I always thought that she..." Fandral made eye contact with Loki and cleared his throat, effectively dropping the subject. Loki shrugged it off but was heavily perplexed by it.

——

"Come on! I totally won this time!" A young Y/N pouted. She was then lifted up by her older brother, an adolescent Fandral, to dodge dirt being thrown in her direction by a young Loki.

"Did not! I won as always!" He shouted.

"Ok little brother that's enough. That's not how you treat a lady." An adolescent Thor scolded.

"She's no lady! She's next to nothing!" Little Y/N wiggled out of her brother's arms and ran towards the river in protest. "See?... Ow!" Thor hit Loki on the head lightly with his fist.

"Should we go after her?" Thor asks his friend.

"No. Best to get Father. Seeing that's the only person she is willing to listen to." Loki didn't understand but he felt guilty about making her upset. Instead of following the two older boys he ran in the direction she took. He walked along the river for what felt like hours to finally find her. She was on the ground as some noble kids kept kicking her and kicking dirt in her face. She didn't fight back at all, she was just laying there, letting it happen when Loki knew full well that she could protect herself. They have been training for a couple years together now.

"Hey! Leave her alone you scum!" The noble kids froze and then ran once seeing Loki. "I already saw your faces! You will pay for this!" Loki then sat down next Y/N who was trying not to cry.

"You could have taken them. Why didn't you?" She didn't move, her answer spoken in a whisper.

"It wouldn't change anything... I'm next to nothing... remember?" Loki didn't recognize the pain he felt in his chest, he just knew that he didn't like it.

"You're... you're not nothing... I'm sorry..." She held herself up by her arms and looked at Loki shocked. She only wanted the prince's approval, to be his friend.

"You're... apologizing?" New tears started to form in the little girl's eyes. Loki cleared his throat and his cheeks tinted pink.

"Yes... don't get used to it." She smiled and tackled the little boy in a big hug. He chuckled after a short while when she fell fast asleep.
