"Give it to me."
My head turned around, my body still facing the stairs with a heavy tray in my hand.
"What?"
"Let me bring his lunch to him," my 12-year-old brother Chinhae asked, his hands coming on mine.
My fingers gripped around the wooden tray, my eyes carefully studying him.
Again? He has been locking himself up all day in this room...
"Are you guys wood carving together?" I could not help to ask.
Chinhae shook his head no. He looked sincere.
"What are you doing then?" I frowned, resting the tray on my hip. "You've been so secretive lately-"
"Can I bring it, yes or no?" he glared at me with the cold manners of a young teenager.
I sighed. I had no good reason to forbid him to bring lunch to our father.
"Fine," I handed him the food tray and he walked up the stairs to the room. "But you bring it back downstairs when he's done!"
He answered with a small groan.
I took in a deep breath, opening the front door. I walked outside in the sun, avoiding the puddles of last night's rainfall.
I stretched my arms above my head, looking at the blue sky above us.
They were predicting rain for today again, and even a heavy storm at night. It was hard to believe when the sun was so warm and the sky so blue.
I walked to our vegetable garden, pulling on the hair tie holding my hair in a bun.
Finally, I thought as my fingers brushed down my long hair.
It had been more than eight months since the stalker attack and my hair had finally caught up to its original length.
I squatted down in front of the fence of the garden, planning on fixing it before the sunset.
Indeed, we had received the visit of unwelcomed wild rabbits over the last nights, stealing and eating our garden's harvest.
"No more bunny visiting the Seong's farm..." I muttered for myself, my hands bending some wires.
I didn't even budge when I heard my youngest brother call my name, too focused on fixing the fence.
"YejinYejinYejinYejin!"
But his voice sounded more pressing than usual, more urgent.
"YejinYejinYejin!!"
I looked up to the hill, looking for his voice. Some dark clouds had started to gather in the sky.
"YejinYejin!!"
Sungmin was rushing down the hill in my direction, agitating his small arms above his head.
I got back on my feet, using my hands above my eyes like a visor to have a better look at him.
He didn't look hurt. Nobody was chasing him.
I frowned as he finally came running by my side, his body covered in dust and sweat, his whole face huffing and puffing.
"What's wrong?!" I asked right away.
